i swear like a sailor usually. it's not that i'm offended by any of it. it's that it's a MATURE rated game that has dialogue that sounds like a 12 year old wrote it.

it's not entertaining. it's not edgy. it's not even offensive. it's just a blatant attempt to trade actual decent content for a bunch of randomly sprinkled swear words that come across as trying too hard.

like i said... i have no problem with the words used... it's just that they're just saying them to say them. you might as well just play cod with a mp3 track that says "fuck" every 30 seconds. it'd be better than the dialogue in this game.

+1

I let my son watch movies that drop an F'bomb here and there, he don't live in Disney land! But it's kinda like when a comedian isn't really funny and he cusses the whole time for shock value, it becomes boring REAL fast.

The irony is the only people that would enjoy hearing 'dick' over and over in a variety of phrases that make no sense are 14 year old boys.

Even with an adult rating, they knew who they were marketing towards.

Reminds me of the South Park FPS from the N64 days.

GFWL?

well, extra pocket money for me.

Really? That is disappointing. I really liked the way this game looked, and I wanted to get it. Any chance they will patch out GFWL or at least make it so it isn't mandatory if you don't get DLC?

Well, I'll be getting it for sure :) And play with my gamepad on my PC! *flame suit on*

And I don't understand the GfWL hate... DoW2 co-op was flawless for me and so easy to make thanks to GfWL. Had no problems in Batman, Bioshock2 and Dirt2...

When I compare all the pain I had with a friend to link up for coop in Borderlands or Magicka, GfWL is like godsent compared to that... Or the lag-fest in LC : GoL...

Same (for all of those games). Going to pick this up as soon as I see it for <$50 on either Amazon or Steam - definitely looks like fun.

Now, about that demo...

This game looks okay to play for a few hours. It is most definitely NOT worth $60 IMO. I will wait till it's ~$30.

I love the idea of "combos" in an FPS... and of course, the gore.. I just wish BC2 or other serious FPS had a lot more gore/blood in it; that would be so much more... entertaining..

I picked this game up, and I play it with a gamepad (it works well), and hmm. The price is a bit to high. But it is a lot of fun. I dont know if I can say it is a very good game. It is just fun because of the non-stop over the top action. Maybe very fun is the measure of a good game though LOL.

Just started to play it, so far it's a lot of fun. I find the Graphics are excellent, your methods to take down your enemies are pretty cool. I agree they overdid it a little on the Dialogue however it's not a big deal to me.

The more you make the word "special"...the more "fun" the word get.

I never understood why some words are "bad"...puritanism should have die wiht Queen Vitoria.

And don't even get me strated on the bleeping out o words...talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

I guess it's a US thing...guns are fine...but words are not :hmm:

And before you all go apeshit, I have a 7 year old dauther that hears me use so called "bad" words...hasn't hurt her one bit.

And you are fooling yourself if you think that your kid(s) don't know all the "bad" words that you do...and then some...from age 3-4 and up.

Try listen into them talk, when they think they are alone...or remember your own childhood.

The whole "must not hear cussing" is quite hillarous actually.

Uh, I really don't think you understood what he was getting at.

i was extremely dissapointed with the graphics. I maxed the game out 1920x1200 8xAA and don't drop under 60 fps min ever. There is a very 2007 feel to the game. I didn't care for the amount of hand holding and storyline in the first hour of the game. Hopefully multiplayer will be its saving grace. After playing Deadspace 2 for the last few weeks i was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED with this release. Only thing i actually enjoy in the game is the particles from unreal engine. sorry if you don't agree, i just like GOOD shooters, gimmicks are just that. I'm sure the story will pick up but unlike on consoles you can't just rent this game for a week and play through it. . .when can we change that? gg

I like the 2007 graphical feel of the game personally. I can't stand the plasticy over processed fake feel like metro2033 and others have. These graphics are nice and clean and look good imho. I cant get over the bad language though, especially since my kids like to watch me play. Definitely shelving it for a day when they are out of town. The wrist/hand electric thingy is fun to use.

I just finished the campaign today. I have not tried it in multiplayer yet, since I play only with my local friends here when playing multiplayer games (even online), and they dont have the game yet. Though I am looking forward to trying out the anarchy mode. Seems interesting and mindless fun killing wave after wave LOL. At least for a while ;)

People seem to like it but I want a PC demo first so I can "feel" it. That's the way to go for PC games nowadays.

BTW, isn't there a parental control setting for you people with young'uns?

I haven't played it yet, but based on review videos I've seen the language turns me off as well. It's not that they swear so much (because I do all the time) it's that the swearing is so far past what normal people would say that calling it childish would be an insult to children. At least children have an excuse of limited vocabulary.

It was either IGN or Gamespot, but when talking about the excessive language they played a clip where you hear this: "Holy FUCK... you scared the DICK off me!!!"

Seriously? Nobody says that... not even 13 year olds. They just tried way too hard to make up new "edgy" ways to swear that it's offputting, and that was just from the review vid. If I played the whole game I don't know if I could get through it.

My impression is that it's made intentionally silly, more like a parody than trying to be edgy.

On the foul language topic - I live by 2 simple philosophys

1 - "Foul mouth, foul heart." The mouth is a reflection of the heart. What fills the heart, will spew out of the mouth.

2 - A man curses because he doesn't have the words to say what's on his mind. - Malcolm X

I rephrased #2 to say "A man curses because he lacks a proper vocabulary to express himself in another manner."

I do not curse - ever. And I do not want my kids hearing such garbage either.

If bulletstorm is filled with foul language, then its not for my family.

no one seems to know anything about the multiplayer, what the fuck?

The only MP is horde mode. The rest is the single player and an "echoes" mode where you try to beat scores of other people on your leaderboard, but it's still just singleplayer.

I'm looking forward to this game, but not for $60. When it's down to around ~$30 I'll pick it up. I don't know why people are up in arms about the cursing so much... This game was meant to be crude and over the top. Obviously not made for children, or those who are easily offended.
