Same for me. Pretty good chance I'll get it, upgrade from my heavily overclocked 1070. 3440x1440 is very stressful, hopefully be enough of an upgrade. If the 35% is true, then it should be.I am waiting for Ultrawide benchmarks but it is likely this will be the one card for me to get. I have a pair of 700-series Titans and they are running out of mileage now. I've also grown tired of SLI microstutter and issues in video games so a single card that can drive 3440x1440 at 60fps would be ideal.
As shown in another post,1080 Ti SLI isn't very good even @ 4k, very hit or miss depending on the game.Going to assess 1440 surround and probably end up with a second if required.
Yeah A GTX 1080 would dominate at 1080p. Does pretty good at 1440p as wellI might get it, though I'm not 100% committed at this point. My GTX 1080 has surpassed my expectations by totally dominating gaming at 2K resolution, which is what I currently game at. I don't expect to upgrade my monitor to 4K until next year when there are better monitors that support higher refresh rates and HDR. By then Volta will be available, so I might just decide to wait for that..
