I realize that I won't be able to resist for the duration until the next release anyway. So, yeah, I'll get one.

I don't think I will be. At the end of the day its my display needs that come first, and I want a high refresh rate 4k (or 1440p) HDR screen, and then I'll buy the videocard(s) around that. I recently upgraded this old rig with a 1070 Strix OC and it maxes out the games I play at the 60Hz that my Dell 1440p monitor displays at.

To complicate all this, I'll be watercooling the GPU(s) in the next build so - I don't know, I guess with the monitor I mention coming out in Quarter 3 or 4 this year, maybe I'll be in time for a 2080 release late this year?

Having said all this I am happy to see the 1080ti - it's a great card.

I am waiting for Ultrawide benchmarks but it is likely this will be the one card for me to get. I have a pair of 700-series Titans and they are running out of mileage now. I've also grown tired of SLI microstutter and issues in video games so a single card that can drive 3440x1440 at 60fps would be ideal.

Same for me. Pretty good chance I'll get it, upgrade from my heavily overclocked 1070. 3440x1440 is very stressful, hopefully be enough of an upgrade. If the 35% is true, then it should be.

As soon as the aftermarket versions become available I will get one, and then sell my current GTX 1080.

Its on the way. Yeah I got one. Tomorrow is PC building day for me. Its going to get ugly, very ugly. Water spraying everywhere, cables flying around, blowers getting ripped off PCB's, its going to be nuts.

EDIT: Well, it turns out "next day air saver" doesn't deliver on Saturday. I have to wait until Monday. Man, I'm telling you guys, life is really rough. No one said it would be this hard.

I'm upgrading. I've got almost $200 in Amazon GC, and another $200 by selling some older cards I had laying around. Debating between selling my 980Ti or move it over to a 2nd box, though I've found the only time I use a 2nd gaming box is when I feel compelled to do so simply because it's there and otherwise doesn't get used (at least for games) so yeah... Leaning towards selling it while it still has a fair amount of value left.

This will be the last upgrade I do to this box before an entirely new build, probably in about 2 years time.

Got one, arrives tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be arriving home until Saturday though :(.

I attended the launch event in SF. Got plenty of free booze and food. Thanks Nvidia.

Evga x1 and EK block on the way.
Going to assess 1440 surround and probably end up with a second if required.

Also taking this opportunity to 're-pipe the loop with rigid tube.

Fun times ahead.

Wow, nice. You should make a thread and document it.

MSI overclocked to about +150 on GPU and +300 on memory. Let Heaven Benchmark loop and it thermal throttles back to around 1936Mhz before leveling out. During normal games it will hit 2Ghz+ most of the time. Using a custom fan profile to keep things stable at 2Ghz (ish). I'll see how it does in the summertime.

I got my 2 nvidia 1080 ti's installed. I also installed EK waterblocks on my custom loop. The temps compared to stock are just down right crazy. The cards now run at 40c under load. before I put the waterblocks on them they were super hot to to the touch when under load. I have not spent much time trying to overclock the cards. However I was able to get them to run at 2050mhz in about 2 min.

I'll probably get one if I can buy one with DVI-D. Otherwise no... I think evga is supposed to release the non-reference cards in May....

I might get it, though I'm not 100% committed at this point. My GTX 1080 has surpassed my expectations by totally dominating gaming at 2K resolution, which is what I currently game at. I don't expect to upgrade my monitor to 4K until next year when there are better monitors that support higher refresh rates and HDR. By then Volta will be available, so I might just decide to wait for that..

Yeah A GTX 1080 would dominate at 1080p. Does pretty good at 1440p as well ;)
