People who ordered from B&N really shouldn't be too hopeful. I was pre logged into the website and placed an order literally seconds after B&N went live (around 9:25 PST) and I received a cancellation around 2AM PST.
 
Finally got shipping confirmation from BB and have my cover ordered. I think I'm going to print up T-shirts that say I survived the HP Touchpocalypse.

Don't give up if you weren't able to snag one yet, there's still probably a few shipping containers full of these somewhere between here and China.
 
Yay, my Best Buy order has shipped.🙂 It will arrive in 2 days via UPS Ground, which is a great deal for free shipping.
 
Does anyone else suspect the fire sale could be a publicity stunt? Seems there is demand at the right price.

I'm looking for one. I'd pay $200 for a 32 gig.

No, and when you give stuff away, people line up instantly.

A significant number of the sales are going to people looking to make a few $ off a resale.

Slick Deals has people that make lots of $ off this stuff, and pickings have been slim lately.

Also, remember those "iPad induced abortions" when the iPad was released?

Think of this as an iPad induced assisted suicide.
 
Damn B&N cancelling my order. It was not even a minute after it went up for sale! What the bloody hell! :|

They would get sued out of business by their shareholders for lying in a financial statement. They're just dumping inventory so that they don't have to keep warehouse space for it anymore.

I went ahead and bought the touch stone + keyboard from amazon for $115. Even if they have a blow out I didn't want to risk not being able to snap one up.

At precentral, there are some that seem to be hoping against hope that this is all some sort of grand strategy to grab market share. I think there was a thread where someone discussed the iPad losing market share to HP. 😀

Doubt it. I bet the touchstone will sell out very soon and they will become harder to get than the actual touchpad.
