I almost did, but just couldn't get myself to do it. I already have a iPad 2 and it does get a good bit of use but I can't imagine what I would do with another one. I thought about it just to mess around with if Android came out on it but still it seems like a waste of money.

Good luck to those of you who got one, hopefully Android is ported in short order. It's a lot of hardware for the money.

I just ordered one from Barnes & Noble. If I like it, I'll sell my Nook. If not, I'm sure it will be easy enough to re-sell.

100+ listed on LA craigslist this morning.

They're going for $120+ sealed, LOL. Hope the assholes who bought 10+ each don't make a dime :)

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/sys/2559356773.html

There's actually no one seriously selling for $120, besides that one good samaritan who must be getting flooded with emails now and another guy who used it but said he couldn't afford to keep it. If you filter the LA area, there's a few ads listing they want to buy them for $150 and three ads selling for between $150-160. All other ads are over 180.

I don't get what happened with B&N. I was happy to use up the $120 in gift cards I had lying around, but early this morning it showed that the order could not be completed and to contact customer service (never received any email indicating this). At the time, the item was still listed as being in stock. According to SD, it seems they just randomly cancelled orders, as some who ordered later than I did were not cancelled.

Has anyone that ordered from Best Buy had there status change to something other than "In Process"? Either to shipped or cancelled?

It's kind of interesting what hp says on their site about the huge demand the reduced pricing generated.

"We have received unprecedented orders as a result of the tremendous discount offered. This is clear confirmation to HP there is huge interest in building a webOS community. We apologize for any difficulty you may have had in ordering on the web or through the phone this weekend; it was as a result of selling out of our current inventory".

Almost sounds like this madness has changed their minds about webos.

Would be kinda interesting if this just turns out to be a PR stunt to boost the user base....Hmm kinda make a person wonder what the outcome will be in the end!

I was gonna buy one, but when I told my wife what I was doing. She said "Great, that means you no longer need to spend $400 for a different tablet in the Winter right?"

So I bailed.

Barnes & Nobles charged our credit card, looks like we are getting one

They charged my PayPal account, but it also said that it couldn't be processed. I have no idea what's going on right now. It tells me to call, but I cannot get through at all.

I got in when HP's SMB site still had some. Took me forever due to the site repeatedly crashing... I was trying to get just one for myself, but when the order finally submitted, I had 5x 16gb ones on it. :( I didn't dare try to modify it because of how bad the site sucked and how inundated their CSRs were on Saturday. I did get a confirmation email, and they show as shipping out on Thursday of this week. We'll see...

Mine says:

Unable to process order. Please call 1-877-379-0036, or 212-414-6024, if outside U.S.

But their site also says they will not charge you until your order ships:

ORDER TOTAL: $117.12
Your credit card will be charged* $117.12
* Your credit card will be charged when your order ships.

No change yet. I ordered before 7:00AM EDT yesterday so surely I go in. Not sure if my card has been charged, it usually takes a couple of days before they show up online. I want to order a case but would like some confirmation I'll actually have something to put in it before I do.

Have you been able to call them? I keep getting that they're busy, and then they disconnect me because their lines are so very busy.

Local RadioShack and Best Buy had some in stock, and also a line of people coming in to ask about them.

Ultimately, I decided not to. App catalog seems pretty barren, whatever Preware does is pretty cosmetic, and to top it off, there are still performance issues that I read about from recent adopters on PreCentral, such as Flash not working, scrolling choppy, lag, freeze, delays, etc...

I passed it along to the next guy. 5 hours later, Craigslist is now full of people selling theirs back for $200, $250 in the area...

Nope, I can't get through either. I'll have to hope that the one from onSale actually goes through.

Well I hope a charge means they have it in stock and able to ship them, but you never know. Anyway one of our friend is able to get us a 32GB for $100 thru employee discount, so no loss for me if B&N cancelled it. If it ships it'll be great, I can either make a profit or gift it to someone in the family.
