Yes, the bacon was cooked prior to grilling. I figured it wouldn't cook very well inside the meat on the grill since bacon usually takes awhile by itself. As far as lean meat, I just get the lightest they have. It's usually 80 or 90.

Salmon, Red Potatoes, and White Rice for dinner tonight, mmm!
On the Grill
Ready to Eat!
I would have to say that this is the best meal I've made on the grill to date...the Honey Mustard Chicken was a close second, but it needed more honey and maybe a sweeter BBQ sauce. Here's the recipe:
Tools:
Grill
Ziploc bag
Aluminum foil
Ingredients:
Salmon fillets (I buy the pre-packed frozen kind)
Garlic powder
Salt (I like Kosher)
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
Directions:
1. Thaw the salmon fillets and season generously with garlic powder and salt
2. Mix lemon juice, brown sugar, water, vegetable oil, and soy sauce in a bowl
3. Place seasoned fillets in the Ziploc bag, dump liquid mixture in, and turn to coat
4. Refrigerate mixture bags for at least 2 hours (I only marinated for 15 minutes and the flavor didn't soak through as much as I wanted)
5. Grill in aluminum foil packets for 15 to 20 minutes
Tips:
1. Lightly season with more garlic powder and salt during the last few minutes of cooking
2. Open the foil packets a bit to allow air to circulate while cooking
3. Pour some liquid mixture into the packet before grilling, it makes a great sauce!
This salmon recipe tastes like you got it at a high-end restaurant. It's really light and yummy. This would be great to cook for a date! It's super easy to make too - thaw, mix the juice with the fillet in the bag, cook for 15 minutes. Nothing to it! I also cooked up some Red Potatoes with it. For the potatoes, I washed them, sliced them down the middle, put a bit of butter between the halves, and wrapped them tightly in aluminum foil. Cook them directly on the coals for 30 minutes, rotating once 15 minutes in. Add butter, salt, pepper, sour cream, steamed broccoli, or whatever else you want. I also cooked up rice and tossed some soy sauce on it.

Bleh, t-bones.
Go get a few good sized porterhouses.</end quote></div>
No thanks, porterhouses are not my kind of steak.
</end quote></div>
you like T-bones yet don't like porterhouse?
</end quote></div>
Yes.</end quote></div>
Riiiiiight. Porterhouse is a subset of T-Bone.</end quote></div>
i thought it was the other way around? either way they are the same. one has a slightly larger flillet.
wich is why i was wondering how he can not like a porterhouse yet like T-bone.
Yeah a porterhouse is a T-Bone with a large fillet. Large can be ambiguous so what one person calls a T-Bone another will call a porterhouse.

Sam's Club and Costco are about the cheapest. Pork spare ribs are cheap. About $2.10 /lb. Babybacks are around $3.70 /lb which is still cheap. Beef rib prices have skyrocketed recently due to South Korea lifting the ban on the US beef. Beef short ribs which used to be about $2.10 /lb is now around $5.50 /lb at Costco. So don't bother with beef ribs right now as it's overpriced. Stick with other cuts like various steaks and brisket if you want beef. Build the flower pot smoker and smoke the ribs and briskets. Or slow cook the ribs in the oven and finish it on your grill. Oven is the way to go for ribs if you don't have a smoker.

Wow...the cheapest beef ribs I saw at Sam's here (Connecticut) were $8.34 iirc. The Pork was about $4 or $5 per pound. I need to live closer to a farm lol.

The beef rib you saw at Sam's were probably Prime Rib. Of course that's going to be about $8-9 /lb. That's about the price of Ribeye steak at Sam's or Costco. The beef ribs I was talking about was short ribs which is much tougher cut and needs to be thinly sliced and marinated before grilling. Not all Sam's and Costco carry beef short ribs. Sam's carry with bone, Costco without bone.
