Whoever thought of adding calcium to OJ was a marketing genius

Caloric content:

Whole or 4% Milk Fat 46%
2% Milk Fat 35%
1% Milk Fat 20%
Skim or Nonfat 0%

Dude, don't state the obvious. This is OT forums, everything is exaggerated but you get my point. Drinking milk fat while trying to stay healthy is like eating Whoppers and trying to lose weight.

Are you arguing Fat is the enemy and everything with fat content is immediately dangerous?

Really? That is your argument?

Because I present... me.

Goddamn... fat is delicious. And I am not. :p

Knowing how to manage your Input vs. Output, and ensuring you get the necessary nutrients in your meals... that is the secret to life.
I must patent it. It's genius.

and wait...

you're arguing something medically related based on 25 hours of research?
lulz

I'm king of making my point the only logical point through bullshit, I know when I smell bullshit.

?

I've been drinking a lot of milk lately since I'm trying to bulk up. Am I going to die?

You're a zombie according to this individual.

And so am I.

I've been drinking 2% for... I dunno, I've been around for 22 years. Various degrees of physical activity throughout my life, have never been close to overweight, based on weight almost always been classified normal if not slightly underweight... slightly.

Currently;
165lbs, 5'11"
doctor-certified "normal" blood pressure (can't remember, something like 120/80... ish)
average body temp: 97.7ºF.

I'm fucking healthy. Except for my sinuses, they hate me.

I only have milk on cereal and I never have OJ, I'd rather just have an actual orange.

KT

Much better. OJ is extremely high in sugar and it hits your system really quickly. Eating an actual orange gives your body time to process the sugar coming in.

LOL, I did this like 4 years ago in college as a thesis to a Epidemiology class. Yes, it was very extensive and yes, drinking in fat fat fat (saturated fat) is very bad for your health.

I don't have it saved anymore, but I will impart to you all the stupidity of drinking milkfat.

you crack me up.

I really don't have the patience to pick those apart.

I used to have access to this article: http://www.cababstractsplus.org/abstracts/Abstract.aspx?AcNo=20023156628

Needless to say that most of those studies you just sound bit from are hardly extensive or convincing enough on the merits of their own study (and you actually quoted a summary article - that attempted to summarized OTHER studies).

I'd dig up my own research if I really cared that much, but if you want to be consuming milk that is 50% saturated fat, be my guest. Fat intake is only one aspect that correlates to heart disease, along with others like proteins and enzymes introduced that are linked with diabetes and the like.

OJ > Milk

since milk plugs up my sinuses, and given enough can give me a sinus infection, and used to give me strep when I was a kid. Got off the milk, no more strep, no more constant sinus trouble.

OJ wins.

I've tried OJ with calcium, but I didn't like it too much. It seems like it takes the edge/bite off the OJ.

:hmm:

Can we lend any proof to this?

I love me some cow juice.
I mean seriously, nothing else can top my cereal in the morning. I cannot abandon cereal! D:

I like to mix it up from "kid" cereals like Cocoa Pebbles to more "adult" cereals like Wheaties (Wheaties Fuel is just downright deliciously delicious!) and other less intensely sugared cereals (stuff that has a lot of complex carbs).

And while I think nothing goes alongside a carb-rich dinner like a cold glass of milk... I'd definitely drop it if it could lead to having better sinuses.
It'd be a challenge, but a worthy one.

I drink milk basically daily, typically only with cereal but on occasion at dinner or making some drink with it (chocolate milk, protein shakes, delicious Caucasians, etc).
I get sinus infections maybe once or twice a year, some are milder some last weeks. Different pathogens I guess, but always classic sinus infections for the most part.
But basically all the time, I'm always hacking nasty shit up that drains from the sinuses.

I have never considered calcium content when making a milk or OJ purchase. I am only vaguely aware of calcium being an additive to OJ.

What more proof do we need?

Had milk on my cereal as a kid each morning. Also was constantly fighting with sinus issues and getting strep at least once a year was normal. My brothers too, btw.

Got off the milk, and all that pretty much ceased. Nothing else changed. I don't know what it is in the milk or what causes what, I just know what the result was. It was tough dropping it. Kids don't like not having stuff they are used to after all :p

Cheese doesn't seem to bother me. Ice cream will stuff me up a little bit though, if I have too much.

Lol summary article. I've never heard of a review article called a summary.

Anyways, I fail to see how a review article is insignificant. The fact that they were able to conclude that "No effect of dairy fat or saturated fat on the odds ratio for MI was observed" in a review article is quite telling of the research that has been done.

And milk is in no way "50% saturated fat." Saying that it is is quite disingenuous.

You're fun. You are aware that 50% of the actual milk itself isn't saturated fat, yes? And I assume you understand that the body actually does need some saturated fat? Or that depending on lots of other factors, such as activity level, genetics, and the rest of your diet, consuming the fat in non-skim milk is by no means a guarantee of heart disease?

Seriously...these are very simple concepts.

We've got a bona fide milk expert on our hands, folks! Doesn't matter the subject, there's always an eExpert in every thread that is going to tell you what an idiot you are for doing or not doing something. Fuck, I love the internet.

I have had 29 gallons of whole milk just today. My heart is healthy like bull, or ox. Just ask your woman. I pound away like madman.
