Whoa- ROTK DVD rumor...

The ROTK is a long book. I am sure Jackson had to leave parts out of the theatrical vesrion to get it down to 3' 20". People on this forum complained about Jackson leaving out six minutes with C. Lee. I am sure it will be in the DVD.

Treat the 4' 50" DVD like you would reading a book. I re-read the ROTK in a week.

If there really is a 4h50m cut, it will be too long. IMHO, the ending of the theatrical cut is too long already. Jackson got a bit too indulgent at the end, he should have cut at least 5 more minutes out. That being said, I still really liked the movie in general.

What's the real ending? I saw the movie last night and I thought it was sweet so I'd love to know how it really ended.

In the book, they come back to the Shire to find that Saruman has taken it over, so they have to kick his ass again. 😀

the thing is, the don't have to. As we have seen before.. morons will line up for anything star wars.

Well, this was out a while ago (4h50m) and the author admitted to mishearing PJ once she listened to her tape again and he actually said 4h15min....but now we got Ian McKellan saying 5+ hours so I dunno what to think.

i personally dont know what people see in star wars. i think it is completely boring, and i fall asleep watching star wars movies.

back on topic now: To Dr. Smooth, i agree with you, if Jackson had filmed the entire book, each movie would have been 1 hr+ longer.
i noticed that he took out the tom bombadil part in fellowship.
ah well, at least that part wasn't that exciting. 🙂
