nobody truthy worthy of the office of President will ever be one to actually run for said office.

sad but true.

I could dispute that, but now the man's dead.

Edit

If JFK hadn't been shot, he would have been a great, great president.

i meant now and in the future... there were several great presidents during the last century. I just think that every election from now until eternity will be one wherein we're forced to choose the lesser of two evils. Our choices will get worse and worse every time... on every side.

I actually look forward to the day when Barack Obama is our first black president. (hopefully) I don't think he's bad, neither do I think Gov. Mark Warner is bad to, their a shoe-in in my book.

Edit.

But I agree somewhat seeing as how I can only name two people. =/

I woudn't want to be Pres. as it is now because it's a "fixed" position. You can't really do anything that's 'good' for the people without interferance. Things will only get back to the way they should be when there is civil revolt on a scale not thought of since the 1860's IMO. We can't compete educationally anymore, or with our economy in this world. This administration has dumbed down the middle extensively and not given a damn about our education and the economy in general (no child left behind is a joke). I was watching a Discovery Channel special about how it was for us in the past - where we had real dreams about space exploration, and real goals, far smarter people in general, and we learned out of books instead of trying to be a computer generation that has splintered education down so drastically that today's youth is thought of as educated if they can IM properly on a cell phone or clear cookies in a browser, and learn how to distribute plagerized papers through file sharing apps. We are being nickle n' dimed to death with 25 different cell phone plans and $1000.00 to $15.000.00 television sets that most people can't figure out or afford and there is no manufacturing base here anymore, and loans and CC's that people don't have the intelligence to figure out that they can't afford. We are losing our intelligence, our integrity, our goals, or way of life right before our eyes. Being the Pres. seems to be nothing more than being a CEO that has made his way there by having been to an Ivy League school and being a part of some secret society. As it is now i think it absoluty stinks. Time for change.

Bill Clinton cleaned up the mess of Reagan and Bush Sr, so someone will come along and clean up Curious George's mess as well. It will be a democrat though.

Indeed, I think a lot of people will vote straight democratic ticket because of Bush.

reform campaign financing so that an honest man can win an honest election, and the worthy candidates will come out of the woodwork.

in the meantime, the only presidential candidates we get to choose from are those that the current corrupt system provides.

i understand that idea horrifies any incumbent politician that's been elected by the current system of prostituting themselves to those that own the campaign cash pipelines, but it seems to me the only way to wean these sucklings from the pimps whose teats they suckle from.

most of the current crop of politicians are chronically addicted to this system; so much so that they refuse to provide legislation that will possibly bankrupt themselves out of office.

that's got to be one of the nastiest self-sustaining means of corruption ever invented.
