in a way they both won. because no one is going to change their vote based on this debate.

in a way biden lost. a 30 year vet of the senate who had already gone through failed presidential campaigns and is a lawyer should have slammed the supposedly "stupid" palin. palin goes from obscurity and no desire for such power to a 0 to 60 in a few weeks to go toe to toe with that man. like it or not, thats not insignificant. biden failed to perform.

He got a couple of good digs in, it reminded me of Obama and the lipstick comment but Biden was a bit more polished.

Even if it doesn't matter, there can still be a winner

dominant performance both factually and stylistically from biden, but palin may have done enough to stop the bleeding, which is amazing considering the stupidity that emanated from her.

Someone here in P&N (too lazy to do the search right now) suggested that the Palin interviews were a pol's version of Ali's old rope-a-dope, setting Biden up for the debate by having him prep for an utter airhead (which she was not).

The bad interviews also very successfully lowered the expectations going into the debate, to where "not embarrassing herself" becomes a big win.
