I've come to believe that Bernie staying in the race actually helps Hillary. There are a lot of moderate Republicans out there who do not like Trump or the extreme right of the party that Trump is appealing to. But with Bernie in race holding the left flank, Hillary appears as the centrist candidate. Or at least the one least likely to do something crazy.

Her favorability ratings among Republicans spiked as soon as she stopped being a presidential candidate and then tanked again as soon as she became one again. It's not like she changed who she was, it's just that Republicans liked her when she wasn't a threat. That's the nature of our negative partisanship.

I had that same experience on Hannity.com and lucyann.com. They had zero tolerance for any dissenting view, and each kept mysteriously losing my account. Eventually I got the hint; it was an echo chamber because they wanted an echo chamber. The conservative version of a safe space. It's the online equivalent to smelling one's own farts, and it only works if no one says eew.
