Fucking grifters.. that's like saying The Chocolate Icecream is delicious organization wants to no longer agree with the statement that Chocolate Ice cream is delicious but wants a primary to be held instead!

The Apocalypse is coming as we finally agree with @FelixDeCat for once.
She is also part Asian.

Kelly is OK in public. He's not anywhere near as bad as Vance is, but he's not Mayor Pete or even Shapiro. Definitely on the 2nd tier of candidates in terms of public speaking/presentation. He did, by all accounts, demolish Blake Masters in their debate, but he was psycho.
I still think it is either Kelly or Shapiro. The latter being a better communicator/debater the former with more foreign policy experience former astronaut. Both have good backgrounds and are not perceived as too far left wing. With Kelly wonder if the gun issue comes back into play?

Kelly and Giffords both own guns. The calculation for Kelly is, "can his replacement carry the seat in 2026?" At the moment, I don't see a Dem in Arizona that could do so. Kelly won because his Rep opponents were lunatics. I guess that could happen again.

That's it in a nutshell. The long game says Kelly stays put.

Brother, KY will be red forever! Losing our best defender at this point would be horrible.

My whole life I've been about taking one for the fam/team. In a roundabout way this is still that.

Maybe Shapiro might not be the best person if you want to amplify Trump and co being weird about women.
The dreaded oppo research. I don't blame Shapiro but just too close to him

P.S. Thought about it again. If it can be shown Shapiro took decisive action when discovered and the woman is willing to confirm it could be a plus. Mike Vereb was fired. As long as it was a one off.

I do not want Andy Beshear leaving my state to become VP!!!
Beshear on the VP ticket has zero chance of flipping Kentucky blue, and he has minimal name recognition outside of KY, I just don't see him really helping the 2024 ticket chances.

I'm in the camp of Shapiro being most likely & most helpful on electoral map; Mark Kelly as #2 option with impressive personal story although I don't know if he'd be enough to put Arizona back in play, but Kelly could help with the hypothetical (possibly extinct) moderate vote.

Beshear isn't there to win Kentucky. That's not the point. He's the token white guy who's not a lunatic. He is about as wholesome as a high ranking government official can get, managed to pull off two wins in a very red state. Did a magnificent job of communicating and managing Covid. He's a very effective leader, he appeals to a broad audience, and there's no real baggage. He's just a super wholesome human that we need right now.

Would it sway PA, MI, WI, VA, NV, AZ though?

Despite all the media hoopla.. 2016 is the wound that'll never heal! So I'm very cautious!

Hush dat, you! 😂

True that my selfish reasons are just to keep him here in Kentucky. Moscow Mitch is gonna need replacing. I don't see AB swinging any electoral states as the VP candidate though.

Just my non-polisci knowing opinion as a KY resident…

I don't expect Andy to chase anything outside the state. He'll be like Pop and settle back for a spell.

Almost wish he had a brother that could follow for Governor. Wonder if his wife might?

About the whole "anointing/undemocratic" thing, it's not. When you vote in the primary, you're technically voting for an elector, not the candidate. Then the elector votes for the candidate at the convention. This is why candidates have to "release" their electors if that candidate wants them to vote for someone else other than themselves. If Biden released his candidates but told them they must vote for Harris, that would be "anointing". He didn't, he released them and told them they can vote for whomever they want. He then endorsed Harris. No one else threw their name in the hat. The electors themselves have chosen to pledge to vote for Harris.

Similarly with the threats to sue the Biden campaign over their war chest and keeping it from Kamala, those threats to investigate or sue will go nowhere. It was the Biden/Harris campaign, not just Biden. Therefor Kamala has full rights to the campaign funds. If they were trying to just give all the money to another candidate, that would probably be a problem.

I don't have anything personal against Kelly, I just think he's "not as good a choice as" Shapiro, Beshear, etc.

I don't think he guarantees AZ's EVs the way that Shapiro does for PA. And there are more PA EVs.
Shapiro only guarantees PA's electoral votes if he's at the top of the ticket.
