You're assuming that Kamala wins at the convention - the only way that I think she will is if Gavin Newsom doesn't put forth a serious effort. I think he has a good shot at the delegates at the convention if he wants them.
 
Dark horse option - Tim Walz, governor of MN.

Safer option - J.B. Pritzker, governor of Illinois.

So what you're saying is Democrats need to pick someone for VP with name recognition? Here's a crazy idea: What about Fetterman for VP? He'd likely swing Pennsylvania too!

Nothing illegal. It’s before the convention. However never underestimate this SCOTUS. They will do a flip vs the Colorado case where Trump aided and abetted an insurrection.

Btw righties will lie and claim Harris in ticket is illegal

Nevermind that you’re putting an actual stroke victim on a ticket that was upended for health/fitness concerns—but Fetterman gets nowhere near this ticket based on his recent infighting.

I figured it was on a par with McCain picking Sarah Palin for VP. (I.e. stupid and desperate.)

Someone in the other thread mentioned that Manchin is privately mulling a challenge to Harris at the DNC. That would be political kryptonite, but I wouldn’t be surprised if him leaking this is his way of gunning for the VP pick.

If you’re gonna pick an infighter who pisses off progressives, I might actually rather have Manchin vs. Fetterman. Manchin, for all his faults, could eat JD Vance’s hillbilly ass for lunch when it comes to repping Appalachia. I know this is stupid, but I could almost see “independents” wary of a (half) black woman in the White House rationalizing Manchin as “the grown ass white guy in the House” balancing the ticket. I still think Manchin is a bad pick, but man, he could bring a lot of chamber of commerce type deep pockets onboard.
