"Remember when the economy was in such free fall that the price of Oil actually went negative? Yeah, those were the days."

Yes, 2020 obviously my favorite year ever and one everybody wants to think about a lot more.

For some reason I was listening to CNN on satellite radio this morning. Wolf Blitzer was interviewing someone about Walz. The guy was talking about this and that, how Walz is a nice guy but he does not like his policies. The guy said who should have been picked and said it would have been good if they had "looked at some R's for VP. Like Brian Kemp or De Santis." I almost crashed when I heard this dude wanted De Santis as VP.

When a crackhead gets through the screening...

Where the fuck do they find these people? "The Democratic Party should have nominated a pretty far-right (or frankly, any) Republican." It's just total detachment from reality.

it must be absolutely frightening for the GOP to see someone actually governing for the people
Yea, heaven forbid, he would actually, you know, give back a significant portion of that surplus to the people who paid it in. He even lambasted the Reps the previous session for blocking the rebates, but when the Dems got the trifecta, the rebates he campaigned on suddenly became the lowest priority, and taxpayers only got an insulting $260 per person, i.e. the dregs that were left over from the massive spending spree. The total "rebates" added up to less than 1B dollars out of the 17B surplus.

And just remember, that 17B was ON TOP OF the regular revenue that was taken in. So we went from spending less than was taken in (i.e. building up the surplus), to spending the entire revenue, PLUS 17B, plus adding new taxes and fees. A real middle finger to the hardworking middle class, especially singles and childless couples that have paid a disproportionate amount of tax forever in this state.

I don't usually agree with the WSJ, but in this case I 100% agree.

I would love to see Adam Kinsinger as VP. Of course, it will never happen.

Desantis as VP to Kamala Harris. Makes perfect sense. Desantis is one of the few people that I think have the capacity to be worse than Trump, if his unlikeable weird ass ever managed to get elected POTUS. There's Trump lizard charisma weird, then there's Desantis weird.

That should be an insight into the mentality of the typical American voter. They are mind-numbingly stupid.
No, Vance has the capacity to be worse than Trump, and if Trump wins Vance will be just a 78 y.o. heartbeat away from being President.

Now I know you really don't have clue.
Get real. Obviously it was said in jest. However, he is an excellent speaker, has denounced Trump and unlike most anti Trump Reps, will not vote for him. He really seems to understand the challenges facing the middle class, where the Dems still have a weak message. Of course I thought that about Walz too, and was badly mistaken, so who knows.

Just out of curiosity do you know how much infrastructure work had been deferred over the years? Can you point to specific infrastructure spending you believe is wrong?

As an aside, I've been hearing about this "ope" and it sounded deranged and not a real thing. And some others I sorta know online from WI and MN (where my family is from) say they've never heard of it.

Then I saw my cat after wondering where he had holed up all afternoon (I was hoping he hadn't gotten outside) and said clear as day "Ope, there he is."

o_O ok so it's a thing.

Dude, I'm from Texas and say "ope" all the time. It's a thing, and it's widespread.

Yeah, that was what it was. it's not a sounded-out word per se, it's a short interjection.

The best speaker wire uses aligned copper and needs to be replaced every year when the electrons start to plug it up.

An audiophile friend of mine who somehow was a fucking engineer.

Also if you spent less than $1000 on your interconnects you might as well be listening to a boom box.
For $100 plus shipping costs I'll clean out all the plugged up electrons. Good as new.

Walz would have been a Republican 25 years ago.
Before they went insane.

25 years ago, Republicans were already starting to go insane. Contract With America Newt and the crews that started to come onboard during Bush 2 were already on a rightward trajectory.

Yeah I'm just older than I realize. Early 90's. Decade earlier.
