Just look up the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition

Except that those were not done by Jesus. Jesus, far as I know, never killed a single person. Don't blame the messenger for the message or its perversions.

Well if God is all powerful and all knowing, he best do something with his PR reps here on earth, don't you think ?

and baffled, i don't know if you know this, but god gave everyone . Free Will

With all respect to you and your beliefs, I went thru years of having this kind of stuff shoved down my thought, I came away with the conclusion that it made no sort of sense on any level and that I really didn't want any part of it.

I still say that killing people in an attempt to get the message across that "God loves you" is totally illogical.

I don't like to get in to these kinds of debates, but...

Why would God care if you don?t believe in his or not. When the apocalypse comes, you will all go to hell. Hahaha, that?s just the bible explanation. :)

Hmmm....or mankind could learn on his own and not look for someone else to save them. I don't believe in Jesus or any organized religious beliefs, but what I believe doesn't matter didly when it comes to fanatics. 'Sides, if it wasn't Jesus, it'd be someone else. Humans seem to love misery and suffering.

Well, God's been responsible for more deaths than anything else I know so might as well give credit where credit is due.

That may be the reason professed by those doing the killing, but that cerainly was not why they did it. Much baser, pettier things drove them.

Word, just look at the Middle East. They don't want peace, they just want to wipe each other out.

Bad analogy. From what I know of how people believe in God, God is the driver and the believers are all just along for the ride. God's in control of the car and he's driving like it's Deathrace 2000.

lmao....I just got a picture of God, chomping a stogie and weaving maniacally in and out of traffic, his beard blowing in the breeze, as a bunch of humans hang on for dear life.

<< If I went and killed my roomate right now in the name of "red dawn", does that make you a bad person? >>

If you killed him because my beliefs drove you to it then I would say that I was partially responsible

Thats the difference tho. Suppose you preach loving your neighbor and giving someone you're other cheek when your hit on one, and then someone who hears it says "damn, this guys right on", and believes other should embrace this ideology or theology, and goes out and kills in order to establish it as the dominant belief system among a group of people, would you still be partially responsible?

No. (although when there are innocent deaths, people will always headhunt anyways so yes, you'll still get racked or hung ;))

<< Jesus Christ. More people have died due to him than all the others combined. >>

In the nearly 4 years I've been here I've never seen you post something so unworthy, Red. I know you don't believe in God and I'm fine with that, but I've never seen you throw out such a flame-baited and illogical post.

Jesus specifically said "Don't kill people, don't hurt them. Treat them like you want to be treated!". There is NOTHING in his teachings, God or just a regular joe, that advocates any form of violence!

You and I have never had a beef here, although I guess I'm in for a flaming now. Sigh... go ahead. :(
