I think you all need to calm the fsck down. Going back to the old forums is stupid. Ironing the bugs out of this new product is the best choice. I've had no problem pointing out forum flaws in the past, but the impatience from some of you is rediculous.

Will take time to get used to them but I don't have any problems with anything... Other than the QuickReply box won't stay at the bottom...

You people all bitched after the last forum upgrade.

"I hate this."
"Go back to the old version."
"Bring back my blue shocked smiley."
"I'll never post here again."

If I remember corectly you all got over it just fine.

it's going to take a long time to get used too. All these colors are killing my eyes. Can't deal with all this.

I can't open any of the buttons at the top (search, my forums, ect) in new tabs in firefox. I liked the old version, it looked more professional and was more streamlined. :(

Yeah, it won't stay docked for me either.

I am glad I wasn't the only one out there having that maiden name question popping up constantly. I see several have experienced that problem. I didn't think I was ever going to make it in here. I was thinking WTF when I saw this new design.

I think this sucks but I'll get used to it since I have no choice. It's Anand's dime, not mine anyway.

Edit: Ok now Quick Reply is docked after I posted this..hmm weird.

I hate pop-up windows and I really hate having to enable javascript to post here.

I don't know if they changed it, but I don't like having random passwords set for me initially either. I've had at least 2 ids here because of that.

But, it is impressive the amount of effort that anandtech goes through for us, and also the new features are nice. Just the javascript and pop-up stuff is pretty annoying.

I've been here through a lot of FuseTalk changes. Each one I didn't like initially. After the bugs were worked out, I came to appreciate some of the new features.

Whining and complaining DOES help. For example, during one FuseTalk change, the font size was altered. I had a 21" monitor with 1280x1024 resolution at the time. The fonts were unreadable since they were FAR too small. I'd say the average letter was 0.1 mm high. For about a week I had to increase the IE font size dramatically just to read Anandtech, then whenever I left the site, everything else had maybe 3 lines of text that could fit on the screen. So I whined and moaned. I posted threads and polls in every forum. I nearly got my only ban of my life, but in the end the polls spoke for themselves. Over 60% of the users were EXTREMELY frustrated as they couldn't stand to change the fonts like that all the time. These 60+% said they would leave Anandtech forever if Zuni didn't change the font size.

Guess what, Zuni listened to the whining, and put in a font size option in your profile. Whining works.

My complaints so far:
1) Cartoonish look, hopefully I can find an option to make it look professional again (gray looks the best, but none get rid of that useless bar between posts).
2) I took about an hour to get into my profiles due to all the bugs. Of course this will eventually be fixed.
3) The icon that matched my alias is now gone (probably forever).
4) Elite status is gone. FIXED.
5) Threads you have clicked on do not change color. FIXED.
6) The << and >> buttons on forum pages don't work correctly.
7) Ack the font size option is now gone. I'd like the fonts one size larger than they are now. Not too bad of a problem, and at least they are readable.

My likes so far:
1) Today screen no longer has 5-10 listings of the same thread if I post multiple times in a thread. NOT TRUE ANYMORE.
2) I like the subtitles on threads.
3) I actually like the reply in a new window since now I can always see the full post(s) that I am replying to (in the past you often lost those and had to manually keep two Anandtech windows open).

I'll add to this list as I find more complaints. Updated in caps.

4) Elite status is gone. Oh well, status didn't mean much to me. But others are probably angry.
5) Threads you have clicked on do not change color. Thus it makes it difficult to find the threads I've visited before and want to visit again/avoid in the future.
6) The << and >> buttons on forum pages don't work correctly.

Yup. The colors need to be allowed custom or be changed back...the rest is getting ironed out--these themes are quite literally painful to look at. The only other problems I have that still persist (now that subscribing to threads works) are the same things I didn't like previously.

I voted 4. Meh, it's a freebie site and any grumbling may go towards fixing the bugs.
