How about we come up with a big a$$ list of bugs?

Maybe they will put the old one up while everything gets fixed?

I HATE the new forums. Really bug me.

Just get used to it.

It seems like one of these starts everytime the forum gets updated.

A couple of weeks later, the complaints will be forgotten and everyone will be neffing as usual.

Doesn't seem like a big loss.

Agreed. Go ahead and leave, we wont miss you... more bandwidth for the rest of us...

The rest of you obviously waste the "extra" bandwidth.

Bunch of losers.

At least I dont bitch and whine and complain while others are working hard to provide a FREE service for me...

If you are so unhappy here why don't you go build your own forum, that way you can configure it to exactly as u want it...

The forums were great before. If they change them, they should at least change them for the better, isnt that obvious?

when they did the last change, i liked it. i thought it gave it a fresh look, and it was easy to use. i really liked the quick reply thing at the bottom of the pages, too. it was all good.

but this is ugly, slow, buggy, hard to read, and uses screen space less efficiently. blech.

To me the anandtech staff can change the forums to whatever they want... They are the ones paying for the servers, the bandwidth, all for free to us... who are we to say what they should and shouldn't do?

Anandtech doesn't have to do jack for us... they dont have to spend all this money to upgrade the forums... do u think they like spending their Sundays doing the upgrade just to hear u all bitch and whine?

We are the customers who look and click on their banner ads, and keep a steady stream of traffic on the main forum which attracts more advertisers, and even more visitors.

But have u guys given them a chance to make the new forums work properly? it's only a couple of hrs since the new forums came online... sure there are problems, did the staff say they WONT fix them? Finding and fixing bugs take time, and ppl need to sleep too (it's already quite late both on the east and west coasts)...

I am not saying the new forums are great or without problems... I am just saying we should at least give the staff some time to fix and fine-tune the new forums before everyone jumps on their backs...

If you see a bug or properly, simply report it in Forums Issues, and let it be... no need to whine and complain about it all the time...

The last time there was a major forum change, everyone bitched about it, then everyone got used to it. Now there's another forum change, and people are whining for the old style.

It's FREE, take it or leave it.

When ever i put a site up, it is practically bug free. Its not very hard to have a few people test it out before putting it live. I think they should get it working a little bit better then it is now before they put it up.

The more hits they get, the more money they get. Plain and simple.

They are "giving us a free service" with positive returns.

I can't stand all the whining in this thread. For crying out loud (literally) just give it a chance to settle. You guys are jumping the gun WAY too early on this one.

Then people will whine and complain about the site being down too long, the upgrade took too long, etc...

u know it's almost impossible to be sure any software product is bug free (some say it's impossible), and it's especially true with a product as complicated as this... After this upgrade, all the major functionality works (u can post, reply, etc...) Most of the problems I saw are mainly just annoyances, so I dont think it's such a big deal...

Should the staff have tested it out more before making it live? maybe... who knows what other constraints they have to work with? maybe they were on a tight schedule because of other factors? They did what they did, and it's done, so why dont we just accept it and help them make it better instead of jumping all over them for it?

I like the new login and all, but the look is ugly. Some of the new avatars aren't bad, though I want my fvcking :cookie; emoticon! And the secret question was just annoying.

....
Anyone else wanna take this one?
No? Ok, fine....

$5 says all your "sites" aren't forums, and even if they are I DOUBT they are as high load as this.

It's real easy to bug-proof against a few dozen users. But get several thousand all pounding on your server at once and see what REALLY happens.

Your whining CONSTANTLY, about the same damn thing, with the same damn arguments.

GIVE IT A REST, if its sucky a few weeks from now, THEN you can complain....god grief.

Oh on another note, I have encountered exactly 0 bugs thus far.

And the speed is no worse than it used to be.

Thing is, the site wouldn't have been down for to long etc etc. It was working FINE the way it was before. lol.

I did. All we've been doing in this thread is bitching at the new upgrade, and all you've been doing is bitching at us.

Screw your head on straight.

To YOU they were working fine... How do you know what happens on the backend? The forums are constantly getting new members... maybe the space on the server is filling up, so the staff had to upgrade? We don't know what the whole situation is, so we cant make the appropiate judgement...
