I may be getting the 0.5 for giftmas to help my deadlift grip. Anyone working up through the levels?

I have the "S" one which I'm guessing is starter? When I'm bored at work I'l toss in maybe 6-8 sets of 15.

If you're looking to help up your DL grip, farmers walks can help a bunch. I've been doing them a lot lately and I notice my grip has gone up a bit. Haven't done the CoC thing in a while because I'm lifting 5-6x a week and I don't want to over do it.

I hope I am strong enough for the 0.5 then. I will feel silly if I can't even close it. I think the website states that it takes approximately 120 lbs of force to close the 0.5 I can manage 2 regular grip dead lifts at 275 before switching to alternate grip so I think I should be able to.

Do regular DLs as best you can and use straps if you must, but do those farmer's walks as well to help with forearm strength.

Even if you can only do like 3 reps on the .5 CoC, that's probably okay. Low volume, heavy/high resistance is great for building strength. I want to say that mine is 100lb of force to close, and like I said, I can generally do 6-8 sets of ~15 reps. I actually use chalk or hold the bar with paper towels in my hands for extra grip, and I've had no problems with weights that you're doing. Sometimes I'll need to loosen and regrip mid set when my hands start getting moist.

Never tried it but it seems fun. We do heavy farmers about twice a month (paw strength), high rack dead pulls (paw strength), and hex dumbbell holds (isolated finger strength). That's pretty much all you need, but the CoC could help if you do them at the end of a workout. Might be overkill though, if you can already hold 500+ lbs in a high rack pull then you're probably ok. I'd use the high rack pull to test what you can hold and adjust from there.

I had one of the other big brands of grips, I forget what it was called. Didn't really like them, they hurt my hands. I used to struggle a lot with my grip, what actually turned the corner for me was rock climbing. You build an amazing amount of grip strength climbing.

z1ggy .... I have the 1s and 2s. I used to be able to use the 1s reasonably. A guy at work that plays guitar is better than I with them.

Anyways ...... I got them to tinker with at work. I have barely used the #2s. One you can do 15 resp of the #1s, you can move to the #2s.

Could close the 1s at one point but damn it is hard.

As others said. Do DL. No inverted grip. And do it. Doing that for months will have equals effect. There is nothing magical about grip strength. You still need to let your muscles recover.
