Who uses a cheap phone with hardly any features?

Me... I have a Nokia 6030 B. Why... because it was free with the plan! I don't need a flip phone, or a camera, or the ability to play songs out of the speakers. I just need a phone. The only thing I don't like about the phone is the screen is a little dark. Everything else is fine.

 to all those who don't need bells and whistles.

Me.

It's a Samsung...dunno what model.

I use it to phone people, & very occasionally, text them.

That's it :Q

I know, i'm so simplistic.

Exactly! Who needs a camera on their phone, or voice activated calling, or an mp3 player. If I am ever going to upgrade my phone, it's going to be when they combine GPS, MP3 player (good quality) and a cell phone all in one, and it can't be any bigger then the phone I have now.

Alternatively, who uses more than 10% of the features on their whizzbang phone?

While I don't care about most of the feature on my ppc-6700, there is one feature on the phone that you can't get anywhere else and I can't live without, free data tethering🙂.

My old featureless phone broke and I went to the Verizon store to get it replaced. It is a company supplies phone and I use it in GM plants, so I can't have a camera. I really wanted blue tooth, but ALL blue tooth enabled phones on display had a camera! AARRGGHH! So, I got a basica LG phone. The only improment, if you can call it that, is that it is a flip phone.

Me.
For a while I was using Tracfones with minimal features. Mostly Nokias. The 1221, 1100 and 1112 most recently.
Pretty good as cheap as they are.
Also had a 6230 through Cingular. Too much money per month, especially when I only average 10 minutes each month. The other 190 were wasted.

I will be fine with the cheapo phones when you can get one with bluetooth. I dont use any of the other features on the phone, but had to get a nice one for the bluetooth

I just have the one that came free with my plan. All of the more expensive ones with the extra features like cameras and mp3 capability, etc. seem to be much more prone to breaking. As long as it's indestructible, I'm happy with it, because I've been tossing my phone around a lot, dropping it on concrete, etc. and it has held up fairly well, aside from the scratched up exterior.

I have fancy phones, but that is just because they help me do my job. If I could I would probably go with something much more basic.

Believe it or not, I got my old Motorola E815 for free on a one year contract. The gadgets like Bluetooth, video camera, and MP3 player were nice, but I never used them! The phone was also flaky as hell, and often crashed when I tried to recharge it.

My new Nokia flip phone doesn't have those features, but it's a hell of a lot smaller and the battery life seems better.

I have the LG enV. Love the phone. It wakes me up in the morning. Reminds me of things I have to do and peoples birthdays. GPS navigation (for my extended bike trips) Stereo speakers (music and good speaker phone) Free WAP compliments of a little moding and mobile.google.com I also can't argue with the QWERTY keyboard.

I say boo to plain old phones. If I am going to have to carry a device, I want it to do more then just call people.

I have a cheapie phone - LG VX5200 on Verizon. I did upgrade the battery though, where I work I roam all day long and one battery charge lasted me until lunch time.

I've only used the camera once, and it was today. A maintenance mech. caught a goat on our site! I took pics of it so I could show my kids (pun intended). 😛

I have a free pocket watch that automatically updates the time and can effect audible communications via a cellular telephonic network.

I have a Samsung V205 that I've been using for over four years. It has a VGA (I think) camera and nothing much else. I got it for free with my contract. I am shopping for a better phone now though since my old one is really banged up and the vibrate no longer works. I'm thinking about the Samsung U600.

I have a Samsung SPH-N400. (Specs). I purchased the phone second hand off eBay in 2004. I paid $30.00.

In 2006 I had to buy a new battery which I also purchased off eBay. I paid $5.00 shipped. The new battery was unopened NOS (new old stock) and is an "extended life" battery.

I also have a Treo 650 with a ton of accessories which I will be putting on eBay very soon. I have had the phone for about six months and just don't use it. Meh. Back to old reliable!

I have the previous verison the original "V" phone and do all the same stuff, alarm clock, apoitments, cant live without VZ navigator! I avarage 4-5000 txt msgs a month so the keyboard also helps! i dont care much for the vcast or the music player capabilities. being a verizon wireless employee also helps with the discounts 😛

Yep, I've even got the same phone.

I lost my phone recently, and just bought a 6030 off eBay.

It was the best basic phone I found. All I need it to do is make/receive calls.
