...when you can have Torque. This little app is awesome. There is a free version and a paid version ($4). I bought it. Pretty cool little app and all you need is one of these to connect to your smart phone or tablet.

I haven't played around with all the features yet, but it's pretty neat.

Yep, it's pretty cool. I can't get it to sync up with my roommate's Eclipse, though...it works on my car so I'm guessing it's either an issue with his or an intermittent compatibility problem.

You have the latest version? Could also be the OBD2 bluetooth adapter you have. The cheap ones don't work with all cars....assuming you bought a cheapo like I did.

I tried this, couldn't get it to work on my car. Ended up sticking to EFILive which works and tunes too.

I have had it work on my Mustang and my wife's Cabliber no problem. I actually bought it for a code reader as I didn't want to pay the dealer for a scan, or spend $150 on my own. I'm glad it worked.

I think it's the adapter that's the problem - the status lights don't come on normally when plugged into his car.

Been using torque to diagnose a weak o2 sensor, never wanted to go above .6v. Today I just had the check engine light come on and is a code for the o2 heater not working.

i use it with the plx kiwi bluetooth adapter. i had problems (dropped / jumpy data) with the <$50 elm327 adapters on ebay / amazon, so i tried the plx. it's worked great on my civic, my dad's RL, and my wife's legacy.

check out the track recorder plugin (free) for torque - records video and overlays selected gauges. really looking forward to trying that out for autox this summer.

Is there an option for apple?

There's REV....which for some reason costs $40.

As for Torque...yes it works awesome, and has a ton of info that a regular OBDII scanner doesn't tell you.

The only minor issue with it , at least for me, is that sometimes it seems to take a while to connect to the OBDII sensor. My regular OBDII reader, is pretty much plug in an read the codes within a few seconds. Torque takes longer for the initial sync, (I dicked around with it for over 5 minutes before I could read codes on my wifes car last night), but once it's connected it seems great.
I've got one of the $16 bluetooth OBDII readers from Amazon too, so that's probably not helping.

$150... thats cheap. My code scanner was near $1000. But then again it also adds around 100 HP and 200 ft-lbs.

I dug mine out again, I have two. ELM327 and another one that looks identical but don't recall the numbers or anything from it. I may try these again later on, but for now i'll stick to EFI Live since it tunes on my car too. ;-)

^ interesting, I tried it on an LS430 and RX350. I wonder why it wouldn't work on the GS

Yeah, was strange. Works on the ES as well.

This is the one:
