^^ Yeah that one is like 16 bucks shipped on Amazon. Or maybe 14 bucks shipped off ebay. Seemss to work OK.

I have two cheap OBD readers - one is my roomate's, and one was given to me by the guy who did my tune. Neither pulled a couple OBD2/MAF CEL's using Torque.

Is there any other app?

Other app's cost. I have heard nothing but good things about Torque...your is the first complaint.

ODBII devices haven't been popular for $150 for a long time...

There are a lot of great and cheap tools out there. I just bought a setup under $75 that can completely reprogram my BMW M3, handle ODBII stuff, and much much more.

Around me, any cheap scanner is in the $150 market.

Can you link what you bought? I am curious.

I don't get this. Why would you even consider buying a $150 OBDII scanner? Just buy a Chinese OBDII-USB cable for a few bucks, get a software that you need (e.g. VAG COM) and plug (and play)!

There are a lot of canned tunes for the M3 already out there. There is not a major amount of different parts. I haven't really done any research on it. I do know when I am ready I will add a header, a couple 200 cell cats and a Borla exhaust. It's worth 50 RWHP with a tune and changes the character of the car a lot. It's about $3000-4000 all said and done.

I've had an OBD2 scanner for so long I'll keep it til I can't use it anymore.
They go on sale at Princess Auto all the time for the cheap Autel model. I think it was $50 even a few years ago.

Changing the headers is pointless unless you're putting on the Euro part to move the primary cats back for the extra 10hp of the Euro version. The race cats are a good choice.

What change of headers out there will put the primary cats in the same place?

Here is the deal. First the Euro header is a restrictive design too.

Swap out to AP or the like. Get some 200 cell cats or 100 cell or nothing, this is not the real power maker...get a nice muffler setup, tune and expect 50RWHP.

Stick with the Euro header and a tune, 35RWHP.

Nah, the euro headers are hard to beat, not at all restrictive. Most 3rd party headers have been shown to reduce power, but it's your money to waste.

Race cats, center and rear section exhaust and a tune are your best bet. The S54 is topping out NA at 360 ish without compromising the car as a daily driver. Ask BMW, it's all they got out of it for the CSL.

The original target for the S54 was 400hp, and they couldn't do it. Claiming you're going to get 380hp with bolt ons from Pep Boys is pretty bold.

lol, throwing Pep Boys in that for M3 parts shows you are just a speculator.

What's a race cat? How about stating it properly like 100 cell?

Cut the crap you decided to take this "off topic" and continue it...
Now its my turn stay on topic and lay off the condescending attitude...
You do not know it all so quit acting like it or stay of ATG...

BMW Euro or USDM has to deal with lots of variables. Even in their CSL.

BTW saying Pep Boys to me is even more funny seeing I spent $300 yesterday to get the aspheric mirrors for my M3 and a $70 ashtray to just salvage the chrome trim (got sucked out by my detailer) on my front ashtray lid.

I never shop at Pep Boys.

This is NOT funny to me though...
More of your condescending attitude is what I see...

I bought a ELM327 device off Amazon. Apparently my OBD fuse had blown on my Silverado. I added the extended PIDs for Chevrolet the Torque App. It's nice being able to see my transmission temperature. My truck is a 2004 and didn't have the guage in my cluster. I'm also able to see TCC slip rates and knock retard. Pretty cool stuff.

My wife's 2010 Accord read more data out of the box. Watching the AFR is pretty neat. I've found the MPG calcs farely accurate in both vehicles.

Yeah, I really gotta mess around with this app more. I busted my phone on the weekend, but it's getting fixed Wednesday.
