Who makes the best instant noodles?

Recently I've been trying to save money so I'm sampling these instant noodle soups for lunch. These things are mad cheap (like 3 servings for a $1) and they are classic cheap college food. However, I'm new to the whole scene and don't know which ones to get.

So far I got the Nissin Cup Noodles because I've heard of the brand, but someone else said Manchuran (sp?) are better.

Then some of the asian folks at school said the best ones are the kind u get at Chinese/Korean markets. Wot do u guys eat?

oh yeah 1 more question...is there a LOW SODIUM version?

Like OMG 65% of my sodium intake in 1 sitting does not sound healthy!

You should go to chinese grocery stores and get the 10/pack plain noodles for $1.25. Lots more noodles for the money. No MSG flavor packs like the instant noodles though.

just pour off some of the flavor enhancers before adding water. or conversely, add only 50% of the flavoring packet. works everytime.

There are some of the best instant ramen bowls that I've ever had in Japan. cost about $4-$5 a bowl. they come with 3-4 pouches and some comes with real roast pork slices in them. (very hard to smuggle back into the country)

funny you made this thread. i didnt know what i was in the mood for lunch today so i went across the street to King Soopers (Kroger) and got a cup of Creamy Thai Noodles made by The Spice Hunter.

Fricken NASTY!!

ill take the Nissan cup o noodles anyday over that crap. I had to get a bag of Black Pepper Doritos out of the vending machine in the lunch room to get the nasty taste out of my mouth.

i like nissin. they aren't totally overloaded with flavoring like most others. still overloaded but not as much.

Maruchan all the way since I have had many diff brands growing up.
For a real quick meal though, cup 'O noodles are'nt half bad but before I poor the water in and cook, I dump all the crappy tasting freeze dried veggies and/or meat at the top. I also pull out the dry clump of noodles and dump whatever's at the bottom of the cup out because they usually hide some crap under there too **LOL**

Favor-ITE flavor= BEEF............ It's whats for dinner
