Who makes a good pair of Boxer / Briefs?

Ok, so I thought about posting this in OT but figured that I'd get way to many varied answers and replies from people who "aren't as healthy". Yeah, I recognize that might sound snobbish (which is why I put it in quotes), but frankly I figure that us who use H&F might be a bit "leaner" compared to the general population. Then, I thought about posting in the Garage, since it really is a "Guy" question. Eventually I settled on posting it in here and we'll just see if any mod moves it...

So, I've lost over 20lbs this year. I'm 5'10.5" and was around 182lbs. I weighed that weight while running 17 miles per week for over a year (only missed a few weeks due to Sandy and an injury). I had my basic 32 - 34 'tighty whiteys' and they fit fine. Snug enough that everything stayed put, and plenty comfortable. Well, now that I weigh 158 - 162lbs, those are just too loose. So, I bought a 3 pack of 'Evolve' boxer briefs. I like these, but they aren't long enough in the leg, so they ride up from the leg to the crease where the but ends and the leg begins.

Since I don't want to buy 10 different brands and styles to see what works best, I figured that I'd ask here what others wear and how they like them. I realize that it might be a bit of an odd question, but hey, I asked about toilets in OT and ended up VERY happy with what I bought based on the suggestions. I don't think it's a big jump from toilets to underwear.... Well, it is... But, it isn't... Ugh, I think you know what I mean.

Please let's keep this on the single style of 'Boxer Brief'. That's not either or, but a hybrid of both.

As always, informative or humorous posts are always appreciated!

I like Jockey Sports Mesh. You don't wanna wear cotton undies when working out as cotton is like a sponge which will just stay wet from your sweat, synthetics dry faster. I like the Jockeys as they are light, dry, provide good support, and the mesh provides good ventilation. They have a version which has a longer leg, you may want to look into that if you have problems with regular length boxer briefs getting into that butt/leg crack.

Hanes tagless with comfortsoft waistband

I don't wear these for working out though. For working out I wear C9 (Champion brand) shorts with liners made from wicking materials.

Reebok 4 way stretch are pretty good, I've found. My GF got me a like 6 or something pairs, and I enjoy them. I need something that isn't made out of just cotton (doesn't stretch when I move and is just uncomfortable) and I'd prefer not to spend $30 a pair for underwear I don't even want to be wearing in the first place.

Do they have nude gyms? I'd much prefer to be free while I lift.

OP, underwear is pretty much based on fit and feel at the wearer's level. While many may love one brand, you may hate it.

It's best to try them until you find what you like at what budget you are comfortable with.

For working out the Adidas spandex ones at Sports Authority are good and holding up. For everyday wear the C9 ones at Target are loosing elasticity sooner than i would like. I usually buy boxers at Old Navy on clearance until they rip. So I too am looking for a good pair of everyday boxer briefs.

I should check Kohl's to see what else Addidas offers. My goal would be not to spend more than $5 a pair so i can have 15+ pairs and not worry about doing laundry all the time.

100% cotton are definitely the worst. You may be able to use those as a wind shield cleaner after washing it a few times. That's all you need to know.

American Eagle, wait until they have a sale and then stock up. Here are the 2 big selling points:

1. 100% cotton, I perfer 100% or at least a high cotton content
2. No Fly Hole. Seriously, who uses it? It's actually a annoyance when my stuff shifts around and I get random wood and then it pokes through the hole.

Depends...for general fit and every day wear, I really like my 2(x)ist and meundies.com. They're not cheap, especially the latter (use my referral code!), but they feel great, fit just about perfectly, and hold up well. That said, they can move a bit if I'm squatting, doing burpees, or whatever, at the gym. In that case I have a few longer pairs from Adidas and I'll wear compression shorts otherwise.

This thread has inspired me to seek out a good replacement brand for my Old Navy clearance boxes which wear out after a couple years of everyday use. I am going to get more Addidas climacool boxer briefs. I am not sure i will wear them for the cold winters here in MN but until December i can wear them and find a better winter brand.

Not saying I make as much as the wall street guys but a few years back there was a report that those guys are so busy they do not have time to wash their clothes and when its time to wash their underwear they just buy a new pack and throw away the old ones.
