I tried watching it a few times, but the laughing track drives me nuts!
There are a ton of vids up on youtube of big bang theory without the laugh track, it's weird.

That's starting to become the problem... it's appealing to the masses who think acting nerd is the thing to do, so it's not really that nerdy. I still enjoy the show for the characters, just not the full frontal nerdity they claim to produce.
Well yeah...they need their ratings.
Yeah I said this in another thread about this show...."full frontal nerdity" isn't funny to most people, it's pathetic. "The Guild" would never make it on mainstream TV.
Love it, hilarious show. Great last ep, sheldon get your headphones on. A whole new meaning of yee-haw. "Oh god", I've heard that one before. Penny, I'd like meaningless sex (door slam), I'm sensing a double standard here. You're not going to blow up the moon are you?
She was pretty hot in Arrested Development too

This show is awful. I would probably enjoy it if the laugh track didn't get played every 2 seconds.
still, it's a live studio audience responding to a flashing "LAUGH" button. It's a live studio audience. There is no laugh track.

People laugh when they think something is funny, and laughter is contagious and affected by mood. They probably warm up the crowd with a comedian, but why is it hard to believe that people would genuinely laugh at a sitcom? :hmm:
