Who is still using a ball-ed mouse?

i have an oldre Logitech mouseman (the glossy one), still the most comfortable and best looking out there imo.

i still have my serial giant balled trackball on the second computer (i have no clue why). the solid plastic ball is the size of a tennis ball.

Jesus, its not like a 5.25" floppy drive or something. I suspect most computer owners still use the old mouse and ball.

Still using my cordless balled logitech mouse. Had it a while, too. Works great, no need to switch. 🙂

Still use my old logitech cordless balled mouse for my file/print/web server. Hardly ever use it for input so it would be foolish to upgrade the mouse. Also, I have a few generic balled corded serial mice just to use for installing or troubleshooting rigs that come in here for installs.

I still prefer serial mice because they use a legacy IRQ. With PCI IRQ's so scarce, why take up IRQ12 for a stupid mouse? I know things can share IRQs now-a-days, but a lot of times they don't share well. Why share when you don't have to. I still haven't figured out the reason for migrating the mouse to a PS/2 port that uses a PCI IRQ.

I've also been known to disable the secondary IDE controller in BIOS if I'm not using it, freeing up IRQ15. With 2 PCI-USB host controllers, PCI audio, PCI NIC, PCI modem, PCI this, PCI that, I'll take all the PCI IRQs I can get. 😛
