Who is Satan?!

We all know God is good and Satan/Devil is bad. But when something happens, why do we say, " Oh my God!"? This also leads me to the questioning of Satan. How did he/she/it become "Satan" and why?

I think it goes like this:

satan (lucifer) was actually the most powerful of god's angels... and somehow he was banished to hell or something like that

be careful...you'll get smited if you ask so many questions....

It must be in the bible somewhere. or watch dogma for a funny version.

The story that conflicts least with most religious literature has Satan, or the ruler of the underworld, as an angel cast away from heaven named Lucifer.

Is it mentioned in the Bible how he was banished?

Banished because Lucifer rallied other angels against God to overthrow God.

There was a battle between the good and evil angels soon thereafter.

I honestly don't believe in God or Satan. I'm a believe in science. 🙂

Remember, Satan actually thinks he is God, so he goes by, "God," too. Satan doesn't consider himself as what we consider "Satan," or the evil God.

it's all just mythology. suppose it's better than reading about god the apostles addressing various peoples about useless sermonic crap.

I actually believe that God created what we see as science, in fact, I believe that science is, in some degree, the study of God.

There are a few problems with what you said:

1) Science is NOT a belief system
2) A belief system does not preclude a specific reference for science.

Please don't suggest to others that there is a dichotomy of those who are religious, and those who believe in science; it simply isn't the case. Some of the most profoundly brilliant scientists of all time were just as profoundly religious.

Dacalo, what do you mean by,"sent into limbo"?

That was Anubis, not me 🙂

All the angels who sided with Lucifer were banished with him. Thus, Lucifer has many fallen ones to do his bidding.

Does anyone know why Satan wanted to overthrow God? Was it because he wanted to be powerful?

It says that Lucider was one of the most beautiful and powerful angels, and he wanted to overcome God for power.
