Who is right Adam Carolla or Kevin Smith?

Two people having a contract dispute over creative issues with a syndication deal and we are actually supposed to take sides or care?

No one will make you choose sides, but since it spilled into the public feel free assign yourself to a team. It is entertaining that Adam will not hide the behind the scenes drama but air it in public because he knows it makes good ratings.

Anyone who does not know what happened download the Adam Carolla Podcast from yesterday, 2/1/2012 or go to youtube. You can also find Kevin talk about it on youtube both of which are from their podcasts.

I know Adam says a lot of stuff that can be construed as racist and bigoted but I don't think he is. he is playing on stereotypes and a lot of people do it. It does not mean they are racists. Do we all need to watch Crash again?

Smith had conspiracy theories swirling around in his head and proceeded to get more and more pissed as things progressed while ceasing communication that might have rectified things. Carolla somehow managed to not have a clue wtf was going on at any point, while projecting the attitude of not really caring about the deal.

and Yet Kevin was the cordial one taking the high road when him and Adam finally talked together earlier this week. Adam says he does not do stuff do to low self esteem and you can say Kevin's actions might have been from the same reason but Adam does not even acknowledge that possibility.

I think they are both a bit to blame, but Adam is so obstinate, he will never change his opinion and acquiesce to Kevin's side, even a little bit. I like both of the guys, but Adam never admits he's wrong in anything.

It is weird there are apparently missing phone calls, but I also think Kevin was more upset/concerned about the backlash from Adam's appearance at the live show (the apparent homophobic comments) and the PodDammit thing, so was very likely on the fence about the whole show after that stuff anyway.

I thought Kevin was really good and honest when he showed up on the podcast and that he actually came off better than Adam, who seemed like a bit of bully at times.

For some stupid reason I found the whole thing fascinating.

I meant to post here after listening to the mano-a-mano podcast last week.

I am a big Adam fan, so maybe my opinion does not mean much on the subject. However, one thing I know is that Adam does not play games and Kevin is basically accusing Adam of playing games. So, right there, one must lean towards Adam. Along the same lines, Kevin's BS allegation that Adam sending an e-mail saying "call me" was some sort of power play by Adam just does not hold water.

If there is one thing Adam did wrong was that he apparently does not have a bullet-proof way of getting his messages, but maybe Lynnette is to blame for that.

All in all, I think Kevin is almost entirely to blame on this.

Adam Carolla, host of the most downloaded podcast in the world and a recent addition to the Fox News Channel, is being sued by his former producer Donny Misraje for allegedly breaking their partnership agreement without cause.

Not all that surprising but from what I have read from other people who worked there, Donny was a useless stoner, especially once things got bigger and busier. Should be interesting regardless; hopefully Carolla can discuss some of it on the show.

I think Donny just got butt-hurt that Adam wanted to make the whole operation more professional, and Donny had to give up some control because of that. He basically made Adam pick moving forward with a business plan or sticking with Donny. Bad miscalculation by Donny.

That will indeed be interesting. Frankly I find it hard to believe Donny contributed anything of much consequence to this "partnership," but the terms of his written contract will be the key to understanding whether he has any legitimate claim.

At one point Adam explained what had happened with Donny. If memory serves he said he brought in Mike August to help make their operation larger and more professionally run, and immediately August and Donny started fighting. Adam said he repeatedly told Donny that he needed to get along with Mike or Adam would have to make a change, but Donny kept agitating Mike and eventually Adam let him go. Once Donny left, his cousin Sandy Ganz left as well.

Donny strikes me as a person with no business acumen whatsoever, and I find it amazing that (according to that article) someone other than Adam was paying him $231K to do anything. I was always mystified by how badly Donny handled it when he shut down Daves of Thunder - Dameshek was obviously pissed and thought Donny's behavior was ridiculous. Certainly the Carolla Network has only grown and become more successful since Donny left.
