Who invented WSAD + Mouselook in FPS?

That has got to be even worse than regular arrows, since you really have no keys on one side of the arrows.

But the game didn't have mouselook, making it pretty damn hard to navigate with the keyboard when you're rolling and pitching and yawing in every direction while another ship is attacking you. I hated that game.

Should have played the Mac version of Descent, which did have mouse control. During that era (1995ish), Mac hardware was more powerful for games (PPC vs 486), and so they released a prettier and more complete version for the Mac.

The mac version also had redbook audio for the game, whereas the PC version didn't. I definitely say it's worth it to go buy the mac version of it from the bargain shelf or such just for the music.
