It's difficult. Most such relationships have some sexual tension if both parties are heterosexual and the girl is hot. At least from the guy's end :) In a guy-guy relationship with a gay guy there is a good chance that he's thinking about you in that manner, but it will bother him, not you, so if it doesn't become an outware issue, it shouldn't be a huge deal. I have no gay friends, because I know no gay people!

how do you know there's a good chance that the gay guy is thinking of his friend in that manner? You have no justification for that reasoning.

I didn't say that. I said being homophobic is akin to being a racist. It's intolerance.

Back when blacks where slaves or when asians were beaten just because the color of their skin many people thought it was okay. A lot of people used the N word (in a racists manner) without thought. Not many people questioned it. Now we call them racists and bigots. See where I'm going?

well after he came out things drastically changed with him, every topic discussed revolved around his "gayness", you could never have a "normal" conversation with him as he didn't want to talk about anything else, I guess if I was holding something in for a long time then I would want to be open with it too..but for everyone else the novelty wore off after the first thousand stories and with him controlling every conversation....

yes thats a known stage where they over do it.. i forgot the slang term for it.

yes i am a homophobic...... well... i respect them for their personal preferences... but i really think its sick..... come on... If we put one male dog and one female dog... they not gonna do anything right? Some people argue that we shouldn't compare animals to human beings, because we got feelings and they dont. Fact is, even animals dont make that kinda mistake, there is no excuse for those who do.

If you're a homophobe you're probably a closet case yourself, or so says the statistics.
Doesn't that mean that at least half the US is gay then? ;)
I guess so! Well what I don't understand if this isn't true then why do a lot of people use this against homophobes? Every single argument I've seen online about homosexuality has had that "statistic" brought up from the homosexual side. Skoorb, elaborate my psychologist friend.

I used to think that it was just one of those made up arguments, accepted because nobody ever gets round to checking them. But...

One of my friends at university came off as pretty homophobic - went on about how it was 'unnatural and disgusting', was always calling things he disliked 'gay', etc...

Anyway, a bunch of us are meeting up next month, and we've just found out that this guy is bringing his new boyfriend. It makes you wonder...

Actually, they do. Homosexuality is well-documented in animals.

Whatever the stage was, it seemed to last an awful long time for him (over two years and I bet if I talked to him again it would still continue), plus the constant aggrivation of being asked to go somewhere that I had no interest in going, and critical comments about my choice in being straight really "broke the camels back" so to speak...

I very much doubt that, because I'm not wearing any. JK. It's really all in how you look at things. If you look at a gay male, and see nothing but his sexual preference, well that's your problem. And thats what is all comes down to. Gay males are the problem. Not females. Although they do get some of it as well, just not as much. Alot of straight males are insecure, or have had it beat into their heads that this is sick and wrong, or just want to proove they are tough to their friends. There is no one here that can judge. It may be considered a sin, but everyone sins. And for all anyone knows they pray for forgiveness from whatever God they worship everynight for being alive and having feelings different from the majority of society. Not every gay male is the flaming drag queen you see on TV or in movies. Just like all straight males aren't macho a$$holes that pick a fight everytime they get the chance.

Get a clue.

Thereis just as much homosexuality in animals as there is in humans.

I am not homophobic, nor am I gay.

I think all this gay marriage stuff going on in the USA is excellent. I just hope legislators don't find a way to kill it off. That anybody should want to deprive fellow human beings of equal recognition for their chosen lifestyle, I find hard to accept. I realise there are some for whom religion may dictate moral disapproval but if people of different faiths and none are going to get along together in a multicultural society, we all need to exercise restraint before we restrict other people's choices based on our own moral code.

I am also pleased that there is finally an Anglican gay bishop - it's high time for the Anglican Church to overcome a narrowly biblical view of what is acceptable today. None of my business, really, since I am an atheist, but the Church still influences the attitudes of a lot of people.

By the way, I have to admit that I occasionally wear a pink dress shirt - someone gave it to me, OMG it was my mother! Was she trying to tell me something? Never really thought too much about it until reading this thread. Having read the comments here I am torn between throwing it away and continuing to wear it with pride. I think I'll take it to a charity shop - pity, it's a good quality shirt.

Doesn't bother me. I'm even for gay marriage. Yet, I think they should eliminate gay pride celebrations

Homophobic specifically refers to the abnormal or uncontrollable fear of homosexuals. While not afraid of them, per say, I am quite disgusted with the lifestyle. Moreover, shoving their way of life onto me and trying to pass laws to give homosexuals additional rights above heterosexuals (Oregon about 10 years ago, anyone?) lights one of the shortest fuses that I have. I have several relatives who (surprise!) live downtown Portland and I love them because they're good people, but absolutely cannot stand any acceptance of the lifestyle.

What do you mean, additional rights above heterosexuals? (I'm not american, so I don't know what you mean by 'Oregon about 10 years ago').

Also, what exactly is it you see as the homosexual 'lifestyle'?

I'd say wearing pink shirts is gay, I mean what kind of man would wear a pink shirt? Pink is a friendly color, men are suppose to be mean and strong. I'll call you gay in the joking way. I could careless about gay rights, it doesn't really matter to me. I just don't want to pay more taxes because of tax breaks on married couples. I strongly beileve gays shouln't be allowed to adopt childeren.

A professor I knew wore a pink dress shirt. Of course none of us would dare to give him sh!t, and I think certain color combinations of pants/shirt makes it look normal. But I guess I contradicted myself right there, because that's about all I remember from that class...
