Who Here Has Played Football?

Just curious who here has?

I played for 5 years in rec (pee-wee) and then all four in HS...started my junior year at guard and then my senior year at guard and force (weak side outside LB)

was your town into football? was your team any good?

I think I got really lucky to play for my HS because our town was a huge supporter of it and our stadium (A lowered field (about 40 feet) with bleachers all around) was always packed...and after I left they got astroturf and a cool cannon that shoots off everytime we score🙁 and some other stuff

Our team the chiefs always made the playoffs and usually got pretty far...We made semi my junior year and then my senior year the group 4 (largest) championship losing to our sister school :|

But I always had fun and it was an awesome expereince indescirable...the weightroom during the winter, the early morning spring practices, the triples during the summer...and of course the friday nights....it was awesome

Just curious to see here who has played...

oh and of course pics
one that my parents got during pregame
taken by the trainer during the first drive I believe during our second game of the eason
the "bowl" as we called it

I was never good enough for college and I had my focus in academics after that anyway...

I wonder if anyone here was lucky enough to play for a college team?

I wish i played football in highschool. I think i would've made a good cornerback or safety... Nuts, talk about missed opportunities 🙁

I started all 4 years in HS and got recruited by my local community college. They offered me a scholarship, but I turned it down as my academic scholorship pretty much handled everything. My best friend, who was the QB, signed with the school and was pissed at me because I didn't.

Well, the CC football team absolutely sucked and he decided not to play again after his freshman season.

I've played Footy if that counts? 😉

Less of the pansy body armour and helmets you'll find tho...😀

never played football in my whole life (was so into soccer.)

now i'm in college and i'm playing flag football.

I played all of high school since 5th grade i think , it was fun...

defensive tackle and running back, kick return, also played defensive end and outside linebacker.

good stuff! I played for Eden prairie, if anyone in minnesota follows prep sports, you'll know the rep we have...haha

except we got beat by chaska, good thing they are 5-0 now.

HS - QB and LB

college, 1 yr, QB and special teams

baseball and football first year of college, only baseball after that

Miss it a ton...still have the arm, play catch whenever I can, waiting for my son to get old enough to play catch with me!

I've played a lot of backyard ball, but nothing on an actual team. I was too skinny and weak when I was in high school. Now that I'm bigger and stronger, I would love to play on a team.

my HS didn't have a football team, or hockey or golf for that matter. now they have hockey & golf but still no football. strangely enough, they had a team in the 60s and 70s. oh well.

I played football my sophmore year of HS. Until that point I had wrestled only and when I went to my first few games, I hated it. Too much blame bull$hit going on. In wrestling if you fail, you blame yourself. In football, it seemed, you blamed everyone BUT yourself for failing unless it was an open field tackle or something. QB crying about the RB fumbling. CB crying about the safety, etc. I couldn't stand it.

The other problem I had was the coach didn't like me because I was the FNG on the squad. It was my first time playing organized football, so I didn't quite fit in. It didn't help that the SOB made me a wide receiver despite the fact that I was only 5'7" and weighed about 135 pounds. I did run a 4.4 sec 40 though, so I was fast. Should have played DB of some kind probably.

I played senior year hs. Our team lost in the quarterfinals? to that years state champs. Those bastards. That ring woulda been an awesome brag piece.

Played outside lb - aka the beasts of the field 😉

4.4 is bogus. BTW.

i dont think a lot of NFLers can even run a 4.4.

I never did team sports in HS... my brother who was 2 years younger was the starting tailback his senior year... that punk... I am a better athlete than he is. 😉

I really wish I played HS ice hockey though... those guys wore their jerseys around school and I wanted to be just like them. I started late and only became a good skater at 18 so it was too late - played on a college team instead. Anyway, those football players in HS would wear their jerseys around class also, but even if you were a scrub you'd be able to wear it... not much meaning there...

No, it is possible, alot of people I played with could run around there. 4.3-4.6 I never could mind you, but I know some people i played with who can.

i wore basketball jerseys around classes many times in high school. it's kinda irony.

basketball jerseys and warmup t-shirts during home games and ties during away games for the first three years then ties all games in senior year. 🙁

Why would I make that up? I was a wrestler, so I was in top physical condition pretty much year round (save for putting on a few pounds in the off season). I strapped on my wrestling shoes, hit the line and bolted out a 4.4, no bull$hit. I was also running about 5 minute miles at the time as well and I hate running.

It was all done by the coaches with stopwatches, at least back when I played, so it's not gonna be totally accurate. That said, a lot of the guys back when I played got between 4 and 5 seconds on the 40.
