90 in my ranger, but about 80 at the rear wheels. manufacturer listings are at the crank, you lose some through the drive train.

My 1982 Honda CB450SC motorcycle makes 20-30 HP from its 450cc engine. No idea on the actual specs though.

ZV

EDIT: Interpolating from the 64 HP SOHC 650CC four cylinder, I'd guess that the SOHC 450 twin puts out approximately 28-30 HP between 8,500 RPM and 9,500 RPM (9,500 RPM = redline) and about 22-24 ft-lb of torque at a slightly lower RPM.

Just found out that my first car, an '89 Hyundai Excel hatch, had a mind-blowing, tire-smoking, clutch-burning 68hp!!!

I wrung every last pony out of that engine too. :D

haha...I'm sure that's fun to drive, especially when compared to your mustang ;)

I was wrong, I looked it up, it makes 76hp at 6000rpm (but it shifts before 6000) and 84 ft/lbs of torque at 3500. Take off 20% for the auto tranny and you get.... not much.

Old car was a Pontiac LeMans (rebadged Daewoo Lanos) w/ 76hp. Was actually acceptable (although by no means fast) thanks to it's low curb weight. Was a great car until a truck drove over it.

New car is a Porsche 944, stock is 158HP, but the previous owner did a bit of engine work for me & I now have dyno slips at 205 RWHP. Still by no means blazing fast, but when you figure in it's track ready handling and low curb weight it's not bad at all (I'm now down under 2700lbs with a full leather interior :)). I plan on doing a few more mods to take advantage of the mods the P.O. did, and should be able to obtain 250RWHP without spending any huge bucks, and 350RWHP if I want to go for the supercharged option.

Do I win, do I win? At least for currently driving this car with the fewest hp.

How about power/weight ratio or hp/engine size. Just the hp rating itself means very little in determing if your car is slow.

Hmm...Lance Armstrong or the Justy?....my $$'s on Armstrong ;)

just kidding with ya...I can't say much after driving that LeMans around for a while (till a truck drove over it).

Sadly I bet going up a hill he could beat my Civic. I am serious.

well the hp/liter really doesn't mean as much as true HP, but yes, hp/weight does mean a lot more in pure straightline speed...and the weight/suspension/weight distribution really matters even more in handling, which in turn matters the most in lap times.

205 RWHP out of a 2.5 NA! That's a wee bit more than "a bit" of work from what I hear. What have you done and what has it cost you? (Considering that my 924S has the same engine....) :D

He had some Anderson guy bore it out to 2.8L for starters ;)

Actually surprisingly it wasn't sold as this and I only found it out about a month ago. I finally had a chance to go through the paperwork that came with it and at about 50,000 miles it has this one little line: 2.8L package from Anderson Motorworks ---- $3500. From the looks of things it wasn't replaced out of desire but more need. It lists 2 weeks prior to that the purchase of a new engine block from the dealer (for $0 --- warranty?). Best I can figure is he blew the engine due to some fault (why else would warranty cover it?) and then as long as he had it out had Anderson bore it to 2.8L. Anyways considering this is running stock everywhere else I figure if I open it up to a bit more air for the 2.8L (cone filter, SFR exhaust, chips?) and 250rwhp should be possible.

Are you threatening me?!?

16.6s (0-60mph)
21.2s quarter-mile @ 66mph (proof that the justy CAN get a speeding ticket on the interstate!)
