I rarely pay more than $20. There's really no need to. I just get Wranglers from Target. Jeans aren't a fashion statement. The jeans I get last a long time.

Spending $200 on a pair of jeans is just stupid.

why is it stupid? some people would think spending 200 on a video card is stupid.

Sure, but the difference here is that a $200 pair of jeans and a $50 pair of jeans are going to have a similar performance. In most cases you're literally paying to have a different name printed on them. If $200 jeans are 4 times as durable and are guaranteed to last 4 times as long as regular jeans in regular conditions, then they might be worth it... but I doubt you're going to find a pair of jeans that'll last 15-20 years.

A $200 video card and a $50 video card aren't likely to perform in a similar way, have a similar warranty, or even do the same job.

disagree

a $30 pair of lucky's from Costco and a $110 pair of lucky's from the store feel entirely different.

I don't even wear my costco pair anymore because they feel so horrendously deficient compared to my "real" pairs.
funny you mention that, I just got a pair from costco. my jeans cap is ~$25, I have to spend another 8-10 to get them altered (being 5'5" sucks). I've found I have to up my cap a bit to find some thin light weight jeans for the summer. I tried the Lucky brand ones since they seemed to fit the bill.

It's alright, but doesn't feel special. Compared to the store, they are definitely not up to par. And I can tell the stitching is off. But these are for daily work wear, I could care less. I just need thin.

Even still, I wouldn't pay any more for "nice" jeans... just not worth it to me. That and my clothing budget is pitifully small =P Granted, everyone has their own priorities... most people wouldn't spend more than $2-300 on a camera. I have spent.. I don't want to talk about it....

PDC is a brand? Or a type of fabric?

paper denim cloth is a brand
Ok.
Good lord, expensive.

If I saw those on someone, vs $20 Jeans from the mall, my only clue as to the difference would be the brand tag on them.

Different priorities for different people.

Expensive Jeans? hell no
Jeans to parties/bars? I'm not a partier, and I don't like bars, nor do I drink.
Latte sipper? Don't care for fancy, expensive coffees
elitist? Doubtful
likely to vote for Obama? *sigh*.....probably. Unfortunately, Turd Sandwich isn't running.

I refuse to spend more than $100 on my jeans. The only people I know that spend more than $150/pair are women.

How can wearing $200 jeans make you feel more confident than $20 jeans? Makes no sense.

I don't know why I would pay $200 for something that's going to get dirt and oil from my truck and whatever else all over them. Makes no sense.

because you dont wear $200 jeans to change oil. you wear them to a party. and then when some random girl compliments you on your attire, it's all worth it.

Jeans aren't for parties. And I'm not going to go to some uppity party where people would wear $200 jeans.

i'm talking college parties

yup, different strokes for different folks. 🙂

there was a time when i would spend almost $100 on a pair of jeans.

i don't buy my own clothes anymore. my wife does, and she's a damn good shopper. that said, $200 jeans isn't in our budget right now. the last pair she bought me was probably $30 from CostCo 😛

a female co-worker and friend buys $200 jeans once in a while.

there's really nothing you can say about people and their luxury items. you have a $400 video card, someone else has a $400 pair of jeans. deal with it.

this thread is lol

$200 jeans is too much scratch for some denim. I can replace a tire on my truck for that price and get far more use and worth out of the tire.

good job billy, are you going to the rodeo show later tonight?

I only have I think one pair of jeans.

I wear dress slacks most of the time.

I have some cargo pants I wear for projects around the house.

I've had plenty of girlfriends. I have never spent near $100 on jeans. Then again I wouldn't want a pretentious superficial girl that would judge me based upon the cost of something I'm wearing.

Why is his rodeo worse than your club?

What's funny is some will spend a multiple on a video card or CPU that is way overkill for their needs or some 'cool' light up RAM and not bat an eye.

I still fail to see the correlation between $$ jeans and getting a girlfriend.

There isn't one, at least not in my world.

I buy $200 jeans and higher end clothes when they are ON SALE. i've never purchased a high end pair of jeans like diesel for over $70

learn 2 shop. i will never buy anything for retail price. it's stupid. that especially goes for buying cheap crap clothes just because they are cheap. have self control, shop at places like nordstrom rack and TJmaxx and you save $ and keep the quality stuff

Unfortunately what you are buying at $70 is no longer considered 'fashion'.

The idea on a lot of the higher priced clothing is to have it 'NOW' when it's hard to get, not when it's being blown out post season.

I don't think the Wranglers I buy are even $20. I haven't had to buy a pair in a few years so they might've bumped the price.
