Who has time to kill? Take this survey so I can finish my homework,

I need to "Do a survey of 5-10 female and male college students. Ask them if they consider themselves feminists. Why or why not? Ask them to describe feminists and feminism. Where did they get their ideas about feminism? What would a society without feminism look like?"

Then I'm supposed to do the same with people 40-60 years old and do a write up.
Anyone feel like posting answers, including your gender and an approximate age?

Be like the rest of humanity and make it up 😉

I figure I can make up most of the college answers, but I wouldnt mind some actual answers from people 40 and up who have already been through the world. And a few actual answers will help make it more authentic. But yea, it only has to be 2-3 pages all done, and the class itself it pretty simple, mostly busy work.

Since you stopped by, how would you like to complete a survey? We're giving out a free toaster to the 5,000th participant.

I would make a response, but im no where near the bracket you need. 😛

I'm basically looking for some people 18-27 ish and 40-65 ish. I'm officially ignoring the college student requirement.

But if you're still outside of that , thanks for coming by and bumping this. I've gotten 3 responses so far!

I am in between 40-65 and would be happy to help.

Thanks, if you can answer the questions in the op in a post or by PM, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks everyone for your time

I feel that I am a feminist in the sense that I believe men and women should have equal opportunities. That's one definition of feminism. I do not believe that women should be held above men or be given special privileges; if you want everything to be equal, then women better start having to sign up for the draft board soon (it is required of men for those who don't know). I am a male college student.

I'm gonna get shot/banned for this but I'm late night lurking and can't bring myself to finish this stupid paper:

Wanna hear a joke?

Women's rights.

Male, 19, in college. I don't consider myself a feminist, but I do believe in equal, indiscriminating rights for everybody. I suppose that would technically make me a feminist, as equal rights for women would fall under that description. However, I do not go out of my way to promote equal rights, I don't go to rallies and such, and I don't write angry letters to senators and congressmen about how women or other groups are treated unfairly. This is why I do not consider myself a feminist, and this is the kind of person I consider to be a feminist, even though technically all a feminist is is someone who believes women should have rights equal to those of men. I got my ideas just from my own observations and experiences. A society without feminism would most certainly lead to women having fewer or more restricting rights than men, as history has clearly shown us; a group won't have the rights they should if nobody fights for it, especially if another group feels more deserving and can do something about it (I hope that makes sense).

im a college grad and ill answer your question. if feminism is the belief that men and women should be equal then no i'm not a feminist. men and women will never be equal. there will always be things that men can do that women cant do and vice versa. i do believe in equal opportunity, that is to say a woman can try to do what a man can do (and vice versa) but there is no guarantee they can do it better than the opposite sex.

i got my ideas about feminism from reading the news, watching the news, or watching tv shows. a society without feminism would be impossible, because theres always going to be one moron who chalks it up to some outlandish conclusion about gender inequality.

Actual reply: 17, on my way to college

Feminism/racism etc. are moreso used for opposite purposes as far as I've seen. "It's because I'm a woman isn't it?" to get what they want. I do agree there is discrimination and it's down to the point that what's left can barely be helped, (at least as far as feminism) it's a semi-natural thing.

Extreme feminists piss me off, just the other day I was walking into a store and I opened the door for the lady behind me as well, she asked me if I thought she couldn't open the door herself, I told her I was just being polite and she proceeded to stand outside until I shut the door and allowed her to open it herself. fvck that.

Not a feminist in the least,
equal rights though

ditto, but I'm 19

Specifically, I don't like feminism, since I pretty much equate feminism with feminazis. The term feminism itself implies that you favor females or put them above males in some way. I'm all for making things equal, but that's as far as I want to go.

I got my ideas about feminism probably from my parents etc, but I've also thought about it myself and mostly came to the same conclusions.

A society without feminism would probably have a few white males on TV that are not idiots and a lot less marches about "reproductive rights" and the like. I don't think we need feminists to keep us guys accountable, that's like saying we need vegetarians to make sure we're not cruel to animals, what we need are good people that care about each other and can think from perspectives other than their own.
