I am sorry 54. Wow is all I say. 1st owner? Matching #s? 289? Very nice.

Have no idea how many owners except the last one, was my dads, we built it 20 years ago, he passed in August at Hot August Nights in Reno on Saturday right as the Show and Shine was finishing. I drove it to his funeral and it's been sealed in the trailer since that day, I may drive it this year if I can keep from bawling when I get in it.

#s maching, 235 blue flame straight six with a two speed powerglide tranny, It's the only way they came in 53/54.

got a 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis custom coupe for 1,350 3 years ago - 52k miles on it and I have only had to get oil changes. (garage kept granny car)

I'm driving an '11 Grand Cherokee Limited as my demo right now, it's around $45k sticker. Looks like my old m5 would have looked good here, too bad I don't have any pictures of it...

Sorry to hear about your dad but he sure has a good taste in car. You are lucky to have inherited the car.

A funny story. Everytime I see a 1st gen I can't seem to forget a transgender (whatever you call a man who likes to dress up as a woman)who drives a 57 corvette. He was wearing a nice dress with a makeup but walks and talks like a guy. He participates in a parade every year.

141k for a 91 miata.
My last miata was a 95 one that I got for $2k because the top was shot. Turned out the engine had horrible leaks that couldn't be fixed without an engine swap.

Well, if everything else was great and you can source a cheap engine with more power, could have ended up epic. :awe:

Pimpin a '93 Mercury Topaz I bought for $600 that runs great. Headliner looks like Freddy Kruger had a fit of rage in there but it has been getting me to work for the last 2+ years.

I guess most wont consider this the technical cost of the vehicle, but it was of no use to me without it:

2011 Toyota Sienna Limited - $46,235
Braun XT Rampvan Conversion - $21,900
EMC L series Hand controls - $29,500

= Nearly $100,000 for a fucking Toyota minivan 🙁

I'm stunned hand controls cost that much!! Wow. What all is involved to make the costs so high?

Same reason an aspirin costs $50 in the ER: jacking up prices when you know government or insurance wil pay it without questioning it or even caring to know the total (eg fraud).

You could buy the parts at a motorcycle shop for less than $500, but they become $50,000 when you write "medical" on the invoice.

Anything covered by insurance or such or was it all out of pocket?

I'm probably middle of the pack with an Alero. $20K new 10 years ago.

100 bucks for my 85 nissan 200sx turbo.

fixed some vacum lines for a few bucks, bam, running car

drove it for about a year, then stupidly sold it, for 700 bucks

it was so fun, shoulda kept it

bought 2 different bikes for 300, a 82 yamaha xz5560, and a 93 yamaha FZR600(still have the 600) for 300 bucks, both needed carb cleainng(few bucks) and they ran.

my dodge ram 1500 cost me 10k when i bought it in 06, the kbb was 10,8 at the time. my cheapest car was a 74 dodge coronet for 20 bucks and a 10-speed bike. i loved that thing, but sadly i destroyed it before i even had a license. overuse, not accident. im looking for a 500-1000 dollar gem right now to supplement my truck, its over 220k miles and i want to do some work on it. not willing to without a replacement driver tho.

Nice. I'm actually going to go pick up a GT-R this saturday.

I bought a 07 S2000 last year in November, payed 19k for it.

Not a very good DD, I might trade it for a GT-R tomorrow. It's hard to drive the s2k to school when there is 2ft of snow outside.

But for right now, I drive a '95 Saturn SW2 that's probably probably worth $1500 KBB, but it's sitting on the driveway with a half-broken engine cradle right now.

Motorcycle is a 1979 Kawasaki KZ650 that cost me $900 last summer.

I stopped by my local Nissan dealership to see if they had a GT-R in stock. They were out but I'm stopping by this weekend and might pick it up then. Please don't be petty and ask for pics. That is so bourgeois.

I once purchased a Caprice Class from 1977 for 200 bucks. It was full of dog hair and the headliner sagged. I also needed to put a battery in it. On the bright side it had ~76k actual miles, a 350 v8 w/ a 4 barrel Quadrajunk linked to a posi differential. Drove that thing for a summer as gas prices were skyrocketing up to around 3.50 a gallon. I miss that poor car. I sold it for 500 bucks at the end of the summer.

I'm driving a 1998 Honda Accord with half of the paint missing and a smashed left front fender. I think it's worth about $2k.

Probably gonna buy a GT-R on Friday.

My first $2100 Miata ran like a champ, (1990, 200,000+ miles) and still does. Even beat some newer, more powerful, cars in auto-x.

My current Miata (also $2100, curiously enough) ran like a champ until the accessory belt lost tension 😡 but she's getting some upgrades this spring to take care of everything.
