Yeah that one is twin. I was thinking of a later model 7.? second Z that runs a single.

Streetable to me is running on pump gas or with a little bit of a stretch filling up at the airport. It would not be hard to make a VG30 put down 450hp and remain streetable..

This whole discussion is retarded. I own a Maxima (2001 SE), but there is NO FRIGGIN' WAY any FWD car with 450 BHP would be anything but a nightmare to drive.

Daily driven maxima making 476whp-501tq 1995 se maxima and a few other maxima w/ 350hp and up:

link to maximas making over 350hp up to 471whp

And if ur worried about traction issues, Quaife makes an LSD for 95-01 maximas.Once again, these are daily driven maximas which are very streetable.

Sweet.

Even though I hate FWD and four doors.

I ran 15.9 @ 86mph last time I ran which was 2 years ago. (2001 neon R/T)

The car will easily do mid 15's if not less now since I have done a few more things.

just look at what he says. corners at 75? um last time i checked, roads with 90* corners max at 45mph speed limit and even on a track/skidpad, 75 is pure bs.

i've taken a 90* right corner at 50-55 in my 98 cavalier... of course the corner had a 10* bank and it still barely held.

Last time I tried a 90 degree corner at 60, I got about 1/2 way through on my own, then the tree helped me through the other 1/2.

My car can do a quarter mile in about 10 seconds.... My wife's van can do a quarter mile in about 10 seconds as well. If it wasn't for the wind resistance, it'd be closer to 9 seconds.

edit: (vertical quarter mile)

Fastest car? No.

Fastest truck? Perhaps.

I have a 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup with a Corvette 5.7L V8 (L-82) engine conversion. I dropped an Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI manifold on top of it, along with an MSD HEI distributor. I notched my frame on the drivers side so I could slip on some Corvette LT4 manifolds, since I was afraid that headers might crack while 4x4ing. I also swapped out my 4WD transfer case for an AWD transfer case from a GMC Safari van. I have a 215-intake/220-exhaust cam, so it idles well but also gives me very good mid-range torque.

Although I have never officially had my engine dynoed, I suspect that it pumps out close to 350 HP and 375-400 ft/lb of torque, according to some conversations with techs who are familiar with the Edelbrock EFI manifold.

There is a company that specializes in manuals and parts for V-6 to V-8 conversions. Here is a brief dexcription on how its done for the S-10 pickup.

JTR is awesome. I've done several Z swaps using their parts. Makes things a lot easier.

Heads up to anyone doing swaps with their manuals if you plan on transplanting a fuel injected engine or T56 in your swap go ahead and get the Chevrolet TPI and TBI Engine swapping manual in addition to your swap specific manual.

John's Cars is great too. Especially since they have the only LS1 kit for the Z.

I have a 93 Dodge Dakota, x-cab, 318 V8. It has headers, dual exhaust, intake, ignition stuff (plugs/wires/coil), 3.90 rear gears, weighs like 3900 lbs or something. Best time I ever got with it was 14.7something @ around 93 MPH. Pretty quick for a truck. I bought a custom cam for it like 4+ years ago, but never have had it installed (can't do any of that myself), it's still sitting with a box of valve springs in my closet. The 14.7 was with a computer chip that only shaved a tenth off my 1/4 mile time, so I returned that as it cost like $300. So as it sits now, the best time I've ran is like a 14.859 @ around 92/93 I believe. I'm guessing it'll probably only do 15's now, as I haven't taken the best of care of it.

I have a video of me doing burn outs with it on some old tires (power braking it), it's an automatic, and you can hear the gears shifting, it bogs down when it hits overdrive, then the driver-side tire explodes. I've had the video for like 5+ years now, and never have taken the time to convert it to digital, I don't have a video in device, and don't think anybody I know has one either.

Sweet. I did the same with my S-10 blazer. The 5.7 conversion that is, not the other goodies you've added.

But yes, that conversion was pretty much cake.

I'm thinking of doing the same, either turn it into a street beast (I have a '79 Scout II) or just jack it up maybe 3-5" and take it offroad, which is what it really wants..

took the top off for summer; Pic

I doubt it hehe. I bet I could take your bowtie in my 67 Ford (see above). Seriously it's amazing how much "bench racing" I've done through the years and to think that now we do it on the net, go figure??

But your does sound like it's a lot of fun.

I don't have a car I just have a truck and while it has been slighly modified, the best I can do is 0-60 in 5.8 and 1/4 mile in 14.5 :(

'03 Cobra + Kenne Bell + Bassani setup @ 700 RWHP on high octane. All mods total less than $10k. Very nice for not having to pull heads on a stock engine.

Haven't tracked it at all, but it's well known that other 03/04 Cobra's with this setup are in the 10s and 11s on street radials without NOS.

Octane and hookup are extremely problematic, esp running a ceramic clutch disk with street radials. To go any further would mean a race only car. Not the fastest car in the world, but better than 99% of whats out there and allows me to keep my dignity when some egotistical prick in daddy's BMW or a ricer trys to start it. When I get out of school and have time to set up shop, I wanna look into building a 5.4L short block (or maybe see about the new Shelby Cobra if they have it in a convertible model and another color but red and white)

I drive a 1999 Mazda Protege SE...only a 1.6L DOHC engine, puts out 110 horses :(

I'm currently looking for a wrecked MazdaSpeed protege, so I can rip the turbocharged engine from it and slam it in my baby...of course, I would need to replace wheels, tires, clutch, transmission, exhaust and brakes...but that car is just SO GODDAMN FUN TO DRIVE!

I  Mazda's rack and pinion steering setup...
