Who Has The Best System Here...

Just wondering who has the fastest system...Not based on scores - but on components and overclocking. I dont think i've seen anyone with an Fx-53 here.

I wonder how I stack up 🙂

P3 1ghz
256 Rd Ram
Asus Mobo
200gig 7200rpm HDD
52x Cdrw
Ati AIW 9800 Pro 128mb
Audigy 1 Sound Card

That video card must not be too effective given that your ram and CPU can't keep up lol.

My system is a laptop
Eurocom d500p...nothing special

this thread seems to have started off better as a who has the slowest system 🙂
this is my main machine that I do all my work on

P3 800mhz
348mb ram
ATI rage 128 pro
20 gb hd

How do you define "fastest", if not based on scores? Mine's the fastest for getting all the stuff loaded with all my personal settings when I turn it on. Anyone else's computer would suck at doing that for me 🙂

Damn, that thing is speedy compared to my rig.

P3 733
256MB PC600 RDRAM
Dell POS motherboard

Basically, my computer is a POS, but it's all I have been able to afford in the past 5 years. Got it in '99, and it was the best of the best at that time.

I could have been a contender, but I just throw that AMD 486DX2/66 chip and mobo to support in the trash. 😀

Tell me about it. I've been thinking about adding a stick of 256 rd ram in their to see if I can at least improve the fps in games.

Do you think upgrading to a athlon xp 2600 w/mobo + 512ram be a better idea..

I might win the contest for being on both ends of the spectrum.

P2-450 is my main rig running 24/7. Wife and kid use it for AOL, and writing book reports. I use it for Quicken. One time, I ran a folding program on it, and it took 3 days to fold 1 unit and almost didn't make the cut off time.
New rig is a P4 3.4 @ 3.6 with a Leadtek 5900XT. This machine will replace the old one in a couple weeks after I tweak it. But I'm going to keep the old one around because it has utilities I want to keep that only run in Win98.
I could have bought a 3.4EE, but didn't think it was worth the money. So I stayed with the 3.4c and I'm very happy with it.

no, you'd probably lose on both sides...my old machine was a PENTIUM 166@200MHz 😛
My main rig isn't as good as yours, but I can guarantee that SOMEONE has an FX-53 on watercooling with an x800 and U320 SCSI array.

heck, an Athlon XP 1700+ will ensure my lost, no matter what kind of definition we are having here...

i was running a P133Mhz with 32mb RAM until 2 months ago. now i've got a shuttle SN45G. Athlon XP2800+, 512Mb RAM, integrated GForce4 440

I've got 2 systems...

The first is my main one. It's got:

P4 2.8C @ 3.22
MSI 865PE Neo2 board
1 GB DDR400 dual-channel
GeForce FX 5900XT 128 Meg
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX
Audigy 2

The other is my old Win98 PC, useful for games that refuse to run under XP:

PIII 850
384 Megs PC133
ATX Socket 370 mobo, with AGP slot
GeForce 2 MX 32 Meg
Creative Vibra 128 sound card

(As you can see, I'm something of an Intel, nVidia and Creative Labs fan...
😛 I'm certainly no 'fanboy' though, as I've owned AMD based systems, and had ATi graphics cards.)

how about the most expensive system.... whoever paid the most.

Come on, lets see those 386 machines that ppl paid thousands for back in the day
