Considering all local area stations generally get their gas from the same distributor.....

gasoline = gasoline = gasoline = gasoline

you aren't keeping it for years or drinking it like wine, it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't foul your injectors

I heard octane determines quality (87, 89, 91, etc.), and not gas stations.

Octane != Quality

Sorry, what I meant to say was that all 87's were the same, and all 89's were the same, and all 91's were the same, etc.

When I had a old buick regal the only 87 octane gas that would run without my car acting funny was gas from 7/11, dont remember the brand, any other 87 octane gas would make my car knock unless i put 89 octane in it

Whoever has a high fuel turnover rate (as in they go through a lot of gas so it doesn't sit up for too long).

BP is HORRIBLE gasoline...but on the plus side, they are one of the only places I know of that sells BG-44K :)

Shell is cleaner, but not sure if it does anything more then help from you fuel filters clogging.

Funny you say that. The WORST tank of gas I've ever gotten was from a Shell station last year in Nebraska. Absolute crap. Bad performance, bad mileage, just BAD gasoline. Not blaming Shell, as it was most likely crap in the tank of the station, but...

Having worked in all the refineries in the S.F. bay area at one time or another, I don't have much loyalty for brands. You'll see gas tankers of all brands lined up waiting to fill from the same set of "taps"...The ONLY difference is brand specific additives, which (I think) are added when the truck is filled. Otherwise, gasoline is gasoline, UNLESS it is a high ethanol/methanol blend, which some brands are.

You guys have 87 - 91 RON petrol? the standard here is 95, you can get 99 or even higher. i can imagine 87 not being very good? what are your findings?

Everything in the US is 87 - that's "regular" grade. Everything here in Michigan comes from the same depot on Lake Michigan where tankers come in from Chicago or something.
