The real question now is how does apoppin know the mod shifts?

:Q

And more importantly, why can't I drag myself away to bed?

If any of you guys had been paying attention after the last huge nef thread, refered to here, you would remember that Zuni said large threads like that would be deleted and why. I think a one day banning is fine.

yakko...

Thread deletion & banning are two very different things.

Yes they are different, and if I see anymore "nef" threads I will assimilate them as well the offenders.

That's easy, Viper GTS. By paying careful attention and watching for clues. We have the moderator with the really good sense of humor on tonight. If you like you can track his shifts by searching through the threads and watching for his comments.

Then there is the other moderator in Off Topic that locks a lot of threads without a single comment. I think he is on next shift.

EDIT: I believe I have had only ONE thread locked/deleted - that was on a Sunday. Morale: Never on Sunday - hmm that could be a song,

LMAO...Sunday bloody Sunday ! :p

I think the mods did the right thing even if they wern't intentionally! I mean what do you expect is going to happen to the server if you send hundreds of posts at it!

I still think the funny mod is Russ, he even said "assimilate," which is a dead giveaway. What he really means is that if the offenders don't crack RC5 using his e-mail address, he'll ban them forever.

;)

I assure you that this is NOT Russ.

Actually, NOTHING is going to happen to the server. Zuni already said the server can take it - FuseTalk is that secure. It just the point has to be made that excessive neffing is NOT what this forum is about. Plus the load time increases. I pity the poor members that subscribed to these threads.

I missed (and refuse to participate) in these ridiculous threads. I borderline neffed one day and felt guilty enough . . .

EDIT: I agree, this moderator is NOT Russ. Russ' humor is way more dry.

<< Sunday Bloody Sunday >>

ROTFLMAO

Second EDIT: Viper GTS, Viper . . . Viper . . . oh well, good night. I'm dragging too. Aloha.

The Mod could be Denil, but he wouldn't make the gramatical mistake.

I think the Mod could be Bubba and a slim chance that it could be Red or Harvey.

I think no one will ever figure it out, and if they do, they'll never know.

Definitely a couple of them though. Look at the way they sign their messages. The one that edited the Pointclick thread in Hot Deals signed it "AnandTech Moderator". Must be the Thursday night shift moderator. The one here, "AnandTech moderator".

Both of them appear to have a sense of humor.

If i remember the people that were posting in that thread were senior and golden memebers. WHY did they post in that? It isn't like the Members and junior members that are probably as smart as all the other members but didn't get in or post as often. I hope that the mods start to crack down on the people that just want the high count and aren't really contributing to the Anand OT.
Just my two cents.

This is why Zuni clamped down on it. That many eMails, in that short a period of time, will appear to the receiving server to be a mail bomb. That'll get AnandTech blacklisted, but quick.

I subscribed for some reason. I never read the f*cking thread only posted one time. I think I use reflexes 'cause I always subscribe to a thread I write to, but guess what I've learned my lesson today :D.

Looks like they liked me too much. ;)

It's also funny how Russ said before "I assure you I am not a moderator" and now there's this "I assure you this is not russ" ;)

I can only tell you that GMTA (occasionally).

Hey I crash a e-tailer site that was using Javascript. I don't what I did, I was in my account trying to buy one of these 10x Region free DVD drives that had for A$180 (about US$100), including deleivery & the browser locked up. Well the next day some bloke rings up telling me his shopping site crash (well it was only a part of his site that locked up, also it gave me the wrong price when it did the final totalling up of the order, ripping itself of about $15) from something I did. All he could work out that was strange was that I was using the Opera browser, which apparently is the only browser not based on Mosaic code but its sposed to be Java complient (but it doesnt really like it). Maybe its because I've setup Opera to indentify itself as Mozilla 4.73 (Shockwave sites then don't knock me back), I don't know.

I like to alter the old Bill Cosby Sketch a bit:

MOD: "NEFfah!"

NEFfah: "Yes, Mod?"

MOD: "How long can you water threads?"
