It's somewhat interesting that pious Rick gives the least as a percentage of his income, although as mitigating factors he did make the least (only ~ a million!) and does have the most non-adult children to raise.

Mitt gave half of his amount to the cult Christian Mormons, who do want you to know that they no longer -- as of 1978! -- officially consider blacks to be The Seed of Cain and Lucifer who can never be the equals of whites.

In June of 1978, the LDS-owned Deseret News newspaper printed an announcement by the LDS First Presidency stating that God, by revelation, would now allow all worthy male members in the LDS Church to receive the priesthood as well as "blessings of the temple." (Deseret News, 6/9/78, 1A). This "revelation," known as Official Declaration 2, can be found in printed form at the end of the Doctrine and Covenants.

LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie furthers this teaching:

Those who were less valiant in pre-existence and who thereby had certain spiritual restrictions impose on them during mortality are known to us as the negroes. Such spirits are sent to earth through the lineage of Cain, the mark put upon him for his rebellion against God, and his murder of Able being a black skin. . . . Noah's son married Egyptus, a descendant of Cain, thus preserving the negro lineage through the flood. . . . the negro are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concern. . . . Well, according to the linked article, the raw figures are out there in the public domain:

Rick Santorum’s disclosure of four years worth of tax returns late Wednesday makes him the fourth major candidate to do so (Texas Rep. Ron Paul is the lone holdout), and a dive into the numbers shows some very disparate charitable giving habits.

I'd kind of bet that the Obama's percentage of charitable giving has gone up in recent years.

My guess is that it was lower previously for some of the same reasons Santorum's remains low -- relatively less income, less accrued savings, and young kids to provide for and finanacially protect -- but that they bumped it up for political appearance reasons and because being President insures a decent financial future almost no matter what. <shrug>

I think the OP was helpfully pointing out that The Church of LDS has considered black people equal to white for over 30 years now. That means that for more than half his life Willard has believed the same. He only spent his first 31 years believing black people were inherently inferior. Well, unless he was a "cafeteria" mormon.

If you don't want someones religion brought into politics then you need to tell all of your home boys to check their religion at the door when they run for office. *They're* the ones making it an integral part of their platforms.

Even though you may or may not agree with everything I'm about to post, I actually agree with everything you've posted. It's ridiculous that anyone thinks Obama is pro-Islam considering how many Muslims have been murdered under his command.

I think Santorum gave the least to charity as percentage of his income because he's Roman Catholic. It seems to me that the Church of Rome generally prefers the tax payer to be forced to pay for the poor. In addition, if what little Santorum gave was to the Chuch of Rome, then that's even less per dollar than Obama has given. If Romney gave most of his to the Church of America, then that doesn't count as much as what Obama has given either I guess. The irony is that Obama wants his ability to give charitably to be taken away through punitive tax rates.

I'm kind of offended that they don't mention Dr. Paul because he has given the most. He delivered many babies for free and others at a reduced price. In addition, he's given more money back to the tax payer than any other person in history.

Franklin Graham was on a show yesterday. He was asked if he thought Obama is a Christian.

He went into an answer that 'you'd have to ask him, as you would whoever it is', and some definitions, refusing to say 'yes'.

Then they asked him if Rick Santorum is a Christian.

'Oh yes definitely.'

They asked why he has a double standard, he can't say about Obama but can about Santorum.

'Well, Santorum has clearly shown moral views that show he is.'

Then he offered that he thinks Gingrich is too, Gingrich said he was.

Then he went on about Obama, saying that he's more in doubt because he - I forget his phrase but the gist of it was Obama 'hasn't gone after Muslims.'

Then he went into saying that because Obama's ancestors were Muslim up to his father, that 'the Muslims world considers him a Muslim.'

I think back to how George W. Bush, in one of the few positives I remember, went out of his way to praise Islam and say we're not their enemy - how would the right respond if Obama said the same things Bush did, which were correct? This really just shows the huge flaws in the views of the speakers, but something like 20% of America seems to fall for this crap.

You want to ask if these people support the constitution, then when they wrongly say they do, read them that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." Didn't the founders understand that this is a Christian nation, as the fundamentalists will claim? That candidates should ask for voted based on it?
