Looks like Washington is imploding again. Sad... They played pretty well in the first half.

not really, they played well in the first quarter. that is the story of the season though. they can only get 1 decent quarter a game. the other 3 quarters are either utter shit or mediocore.

Skins would've tried two plays for the 1st down had the chains not moved beforehand!! Triplett you arse!! What a botch

wow, major f up by the refs.

but seriously, hold on to the damn ball.

Yep. tough to claim the Skins got screwed when they converted on the next play, then the next....and lost the ball.

and it was weird...The Giants looked so lost on that supposed 4th down play, because they didn't realize it either.

still kinda confused as to what happened--it looked the skins got the 4th down conversion on what they thought was first down, then got the 4th down conversion, again, on the do-over--except for the take-away.

haha such a fitting end to the game. sums up the redskins season perfectly.

another fuck up by the commentators again, with al michaels saying that the skins are now officially mathematically out - they were out as soon as the eagles won this afternoon.

on 2nd down they converted for a first down but it was close, and they moved the chains.

then on first down, they threw a 30yd pass or so and fred davis dropped it.

then all of a sudden the refs decided it wasn't a first down the prior play, so instead of it being 2nd and 1, it was 4th and 1.

and that is when garcon had it and they stripped it from him for the turnover that cost them the game.

And with the Texans and 'Skins both losing, they currently will have the 1st and 2nd picks in the 2014 draft.

Which means the Rams have the 2nd pick in the 2014 draft from WAS due to the RG3 trade. Which they can either use on a QB to replace Bradford (who would likely be better than RG3) or trade again for a lot more picks.

LOL at the Jaguars for playing themselves out of the #1 pick.

If the current draft order is the final draft order, I wonder if the Texans will take a QB?

He's always had an arm, only stupid people would parrot what ESPeytoN tells them, and they repeat it enough that they thought it is the truth.

Smith has no history of throwing consistent deep balls. The last 3 seasons, though, he has a history of being very accurate and smart. He's been a very good QB.

I think the majority of football fans have succumbed to a common number of delusions, the largest one, imo, is that Drew Brees has always been good--therefore SD was STUPID to trade him.

No one seems to remember how goddamn awful Brees was those first 3 or 4 seasons with SD, and only when Rivers showed up, Brees turned it on and raised his market value. The Chargers were a shit team in those days, obviously, but got a lot from the Rivers/Eli deal (used those picks for Merriman and, I think, Vincent Jackson?).

That aside, no one wanted to see Brees stick around. He had one--maybe it was two good seasons, before going to NO. Also, this turnaround coincides with Shottenheimer. Much like Alex Smith turning it around when new coaching blood shows up. No, I'm not comparing Smith to Brees, just that it's easy for people to hold on to past performance despite recent contrary evidence in very different situations, or conveniently erase past performance for whatever reason.

St Louis is going to make out like bandits this year. Though, I'm not sure what QB this year would likely be better than RG3. Sure, there could be plenty, but I wouldn't call it "likely."

Any of the unknowns could come out of nowhere and be better than even Brady or Favre or that Wilson guy, but with the current crop of favorites, I wouldn't consider those "likelies."

Mocks have them going with Clowney. Watt + Clowney could be a dangerous duo.. but those are just mocks.

I think Brees' only good season with SD was his last one there.

I actually hope Seattle wins tonight. I think it will be a good game, but I want Seattle to dominate. Give Carolina some momentum going into next week and hopefully they win. That would sure shake things up.

Yeah, it was kind of a crummy game, but I was glad to see AP pass 10k yards. Can't believe the yards he can still put up with a nonexistent O-line and zero passing game.

Looking forward to Hawks/Aints tonight.
