I acutally enjoy RMA'ing items.

I also enjoy root canals with no anesthetic.

I would sooner RMA things that have things that didn't work.

Of course, if nothing ever broke that would be even better :)

About ten months ago I got in on a deal for a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical - my first foray into the optical mousing world. It's a fantastic product, especially for not being laden down with buttons all over the damn thing. After waiting 6 months, I received my mail-in rebate -- meaning a total cost of $5.00 CDN plus tax.

Fast forward to this week Monday. The mouse's right button mysteriously stops working. The Intellipoint driver is still working perfectly, so I diagnose this as a hardware failure - something Microsoft mice have gotten a bad but deserved rep for around here. To compensate, MS has that toll-free line set up in North America at 1-800-933-4750 for people to phone up and ask for a replacement while under warranty. Most hassle-free return system EVER. I simply stated the problem and was asked for the product ID # (on the bottom of the mouse) thirty seconds later. After taking down my address, I was informed that my mouse would arrive via Purolator in 5-7 days (got here Monday morning) totally free of charge, and there wasn't even a need to send back my defective mouse!

That not enough for ya? Okay, listen to this. On the front of the new mouse's box was a mail-in rebate coupon for $10 USD. If I send this away, I'll actually end up MAKING money for buying this mouse. Goooooo RMA! :D

I have RMA'd a few things. the company makes all the difference. I have dealt with 2 companies, one was Newegg, one was CompGeeks.

Newegg was super easy. took a while, but easy.

CompGeeks is suck. all I am going to say.

Other than that: :D

I've RMA'ed with NewEgg and Mwave alot, no problems. I sent my IBM 75GXP in to IBM and it got there on the 22nd but on the check your rma status on the ibm site says it didnt get there yet. So we'll see what happens with that, hopefully they wont put me through hell.

I RMA'd a HD with WD a couple weeks ago. Turnaround time was less than a week. Not bad, IMO. Didn't have to speak to a single person either.

I hate to RMA. I haven't had problems with the companies, but just paying for the return shipping pisses me off. In a lot of cases, it makes it not even worth doing the return/exchange. Like when NewEgg sent me the wrong thing. I was going to have to pay return shipping AND a 15% restocking fee. Bzzzt! Thanks for playing.

It absolutely sucks because I hate paying for shipping. In a couple days I'm going to package my defective video card and send it to newegg for a replacement. Arrgh.

I hate it with a passion like everyone else.

I'm getting myself a headset phone. Being on hold is suck.

What sucks even more are dumbasses who hang up on you in the middle of the request and I waited for 45+ mins on hold. WTF..

I hate RMA'ing stuff. But I hate waiting for the RMA to return even more! :|

So, what I do now is just send the item back and not put the RMA number, name, or anything to identify it! Instant RMA. No waiting for returns! :D

I love to RMA stuff. I bought a APC backoffice 500 from a trader here for real cheap (It didn't work, only beeped) so I got it and then called APC, low and behold it was still RMAable sooooo, RMA isn't always a bad thing :) I got a new battery backup for pennies on the dollar.
