I enjoy sleep, but that's only because I need it. I feel like I could get so much more done in a day if I didn't need to do it.

What gets me is the people who can function on four or five hours better than I can at eight. Losing the genetic lottery's a bitch.

I hate having to do it.
Would like to think I'd get so much more done with the extra time, but realistically our society would probably be a lot different if there was no sleep. We'd work 2/3 of the day and still only have 8 hours of fun time.

And nothing would be any better.

I love sleeping and try to get a nap in on at least one day on the weekend. I am a light sleeper so I often have issues getting several hours of sleep per night, so it seems I am always playing catch-up.

7:30 to 4, ohhhh, you pooor thing!
Most of us work more hours than your job & classes combined.

I was just thinking that. I'd be thrilled if my day was that short. 7:30 to 4 is an 8 hour day if you take a 30 minute lunch.

My job and the class I'm taking typically take about 10 to 12 hours a day, sometimes much more.

I will continue to regret wasting time sleeping until someone starts paying me for that lost time

I dream about this all the time; would love to be able to eliminate sleep from my daily activities. Alas, it appears I am stuck with sleep for another 30 years, give or take.

I remember feeling that way when I was finishing up my degree and going to school and working full time. Just wanted more rec time, but sleep keeps getting in the way. These days, I can't get enough sleep and play catch up durring the weekends.. damn video games.. haha

You'd be amazed what you can get used to. I sleep about 3-4 hours a day, but find myself dozing randomly. Sucks because I am a night person, and can not fall asleep before like 2AM, but I have to wake up early and take my son to school at 7:30, then to work till six, then home to catch up on my hobbies, and then surf the net and watch TV till I pass out around 2 or 3, then wake up, go to bed, and do it all over.

I love sleeping. I had at least 4 distinct, lucid dreams last night, and it was good fun. Beats reality every time.

Edit:
And your poll sucks. You must be training for government statistician position. No matter what way someone votes, you can spin it for your own purposes.

8 hours of sleep is too much for a healthy adult. Numerous studies state 6.5 hours is enough sleep. I feel much better on 6.5 than 8 or 10. Just imagine adding 1.5 hours to waking time each day. That is 547.5 hours of extra living time each year. That is about 33,000 hours of extra time over the course of your life. You divide that by 2080 hours (the amount of time an average American works each year) and that comes out to be 15 working years taken back from the man.

All from sleeping 6.5 hours instead of 8.

Technically speaking, that turns into:

Sleep at 2am
Wake up at 6:45am
Come back home at 5:00pm
Go back to sleep at 11:00pm

Yeah, but what are you really doing with all that extra time? Finding a cure for cancer or posting on facebook?
