p.s. my tree is artificial, and it will last years upon years. we debated on a real one, as we've always purchased live trees in the past. Had to debate for a few days about it before making this decision.

Why would a Jew celebrate Christmas?

Why not, i was raised Catholic and for some reason we celebrated winter solstice then. ;)

It's tradition, kinda like you boys with Thanksgiving, you're not going to share your food with Indians, are you?

If it's not a real one, you need to smear it with the blood of three virgins.

too soon, executus.

I rarely decorate for Christmas, but when I do, it goes up the first week of december and comes down the first weekend after new year's.

The tree is out on the porch, we got it this weekend. It is a live Nordman Fir.

We have had mixed luck keeping the trees live the next summer. This year we found one that has been in the pot for over year, left over from last season.
We'll leave it out there as my wife has allergies. It looks great through the windows.

To trees? Your wife is allergic to trees?

Oddly, I just mentioned this to my wife last night. I was in the mood to stick up the Christmas tree. (Because if the house is decorated for Christmas, I'll be less tempted to gut the living room, ripping out the wallboard, building a new ridge beam & beams at the ends of the room, ripping out the ceiling,... you know, fun stuff. She wants me to wait to do that until after Christmas.

We share our food with Indians (feather, not dot) every day. I'm 1/4 Sioux, 1/8 Cheyenne...

I decorated the citrus trees today. We are expecting a freeze tonight and the lights keep the trees and fruit warm. Not a lot of heat but enough, hopefully.

Had this fight with my wife this morning. spent 5 hours sorting out lights and trying to get them all lit. Have a prelit tree that wasn't being very cooperative so i cut all the f&^*%$g lights off of it and got two strands working so she could decorate it.

How about NOW? Any one have their tree up now? Mine has been up since the start of this thead. Is it still to early to purchase a live tree?

Yes, my wife put both of our trees up. She usually has them up before Thanksgiving but we were a little late this year.

I feel bad for the guys who have to put up the decorations at work hah. So by the time they're finished setting up all the decorations at work, they don't even want to think about it when they go home to their families.

We usually put it up a week before Xmas and two weeks after New Year. Only stays up that long because that's when then idiot city picks them up form the trash.

I'm going to put my outside lights up tomorrow, before it gets too cold.
