Those eggs are great acutally. As said many times before it's great in rice soup. Personally I never eat them as is, but if I did it to win $50k, I would.
 
Century eggs actually taste really good. I don't know what those fear factor contestants had to fear but this should be the least of their worries. They also featured Balut, which are duck eggs, in fear factor; those are tasty as well.

I think the official English name is "century egg". In Mandarin we sometimes call it "skin egg" (direct translation) as well.
