NICE!!!! I was trying to think who from those books I would pick. It's a hard choice though, you gotta love Fid and Kal. And of course Whiskeyjack.

Edit:

Have either of you 2 gotten Reaper's Gale yet? I had to order it from the UK so I could read it earlier.

Hari Seldon.

Got me completely into Sci Fi, and I haven't looked back, Asimov, Bear, Bedford, Clarke, Baxter, Vinge, and even some Philip K. Dick.

Atticus Finch (from To Kill a Mockingbird)- good heart, philosophical guy

Hank Rearden (Atlas Shrugged)- independent, intelligent, self made man

I would also like to mention Druss, and John Shannaw.

Both Characters by David Gemmell. Good stuff, very memorable for me.

Druss is great, he cracked me up. Though I wish I had read them in cronological order. It would have made way more sense. Don't remember John Shannaw though. Is he from the Stones of Power series? Those are the only ones I haven't read.

I'm really sad that Gemmell died! I'm still going to get the last Troy book though.

I have been reading the Song of fire and ice series and have a few favorite characters

Tyrion the imp for his witty comebacks and his scheming which has gotten him out of many rough situations and I also want to see what he does for revenge whenever the new books come out.

Petyr Baelish since it seems he is behind basically almost everything that has happened thus far in the story, yet no one would suspect he is the mastermind

I like Tyrion, but I hate Petyr. Arya is my favorite though.

How can anyone like Petyr? I agree with Tyrion and Arya, I am almost done with Storm of Swords :-D

hell, I was gonna say Stephen Deadalus, or Harold Bloom. guess that would make me "pretentious?"

Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter series)
Roland Deschain (Dark Tower series)
Captain John Yossarian (Catch 22)
Winston Smith (1984)

My first character I ever got attached to...

Ray Garraty (The Long Walk). I was about 13 when I read that.

Arya is one of my favorites as well, her sister Sansa wasn't, but she's growing up now and becoming one of my favorites, mainly because she's still very naive and being manipulated by everyone around her. Daneryes is probably my number 2 favorite though, with Jon Snow as number 1.

Thanks for reminding me! I ordered both 'Midnight Tides' and 'The Bonehunters' from the UK back before their US releases.

Have you read either of his novellas that take place in the Malazan Empire?
