The president is racist, but since blind ultra libs like yourself honestly believe that only whites are capable of racism, you dont see it.
He proved it his first week in office with the college police incident. His advisers told him to apologize and then keep his mouth shut, but the damage was done. Those who arent blinded by the almighty democrat messiah knew exactly what he was all about.

Don't be a idiot shortyL, civil rights laws predate Obama by 40 years or more.

Our white Ohio landlord is simply a total idiot, when smarter people than himself have tried to get around the law and got totally dope slapped in the process.

I wonder if the idiot bothered to consult with an attorney, when every competent attorney would tell him flat out, he does not have a single leg to stand on and is totally cruising for a bruising.

I doubt he cares for your opinion, only his right to use his property as he deems fit.

well thats kind of the issue. he does NOT have the right o use his property as he deems fit. once you start renting it out to the public you have to obey other laws.

IF this was his pool in his backyard (not a rented property) then he would be fine.

#1 It's NOT a public swimming pool, but used by more than likely a home that was divided into two homes (a duplex) looks like an old run down ohio hood from the picture.

#2 This guy that cleans and maintains the pool ... for his guest and the other party that lives in the duplex probably doesn't want to clean up after the other person so he finds an old sign and puts it on the fence.

I can put any sign up I want on my pool... Would I do this? No... If I were black and I rented out the other side of my duplex to some white trash hick and he came in and bathed in my pool after cleaning the pool, would I run down and make up a sign 'pool for blacks only'? NO, I think there could have been a better way to handle it, but... I don't think a debate between two parties should make national TV.

This is just stupid...

Thankfully, my world view doesn't require people to care for my opinion for me to still hold one.

Your argument, as far as I can tell, seems to be that if someone is acting within their rights, people shouldn't care one way or another. That seems like it's not only unrealistic, but massively overstating the role of law in our society. Legal rights protect you from the government, not from public opinion.

It is kind of stupid that this is "news", exactly...on that I agree.

On the other hand, racism is a sensitive topic in this country, and examples of it are likely to grab our attention, no matter how small.

Is it newsworthy that some guy responded to a personal dispute with a racist sign? Not really. But the fact that he responded THAT way confirms for many what they already believed...that racism is still alive and well in our culture, just maybe a little less obvious than it used to be. I think that's why it shows up as "news".

err except you are wrong. ONCE he started renting he has to obey the laws.

this is not about private property rights. if it was i would be backing him. bottom line is once he started renting out the place (and pool) he now has to obey other laws.

Yeah...no, you are completely wrong.

Its ok for the NAACP to promote other forms of racism, such as a minority only college scholarships.

http://scholarshipsngrants.com/naacp-scholarships/

But its not ok for a swimming pool to be whites only?

The only solution to racism, is to end racism, and that means "all" forms of racism. We can not pick and choose what forms of racism will be tolerated in our society.

How nice, oppress an entire people for 100 years after their supposed liberation and then when trying to address the inequalities imposed from those 100 years of oppression, just say 'stop discriminating against the majority who oppressed you!'

The issue is that you basically favor a situation where an entire people are oppressed for hundreds of years and then refuse to address the situation afterwards. I don't think that's really discrimination, but I suppose you could address it by only addressing poverty or something like that instead, but it still supposes that those hundreds of years of oppression didn't occur or an attempt shouldn't be made to rectify at least some of the problems from those hundreds of years of oppression, of which many people are still alive today who directly suffered from under portions of those years.

Do you consider the reparations given Japanese-Americans to be racist?

We should not be punished for something that happened over 140 years ago. I am not going to pay for something my great-great-great-grandfather did, forget it, its not going to happen. I am not even going to apologize for it.

Even though I am not proud of slavery, I am not ashamed of it either. Slavery is part of our history. To be ashamed of slavery is to be ashamed of our history. To be ashamed of our history, is to be ashamed of who we are today.

If we want to end racism, then end it. Stop talking in colors, and start talking about people.
