I am african-american..........oops wrong thread 🙂

Actually i would think the same thing goes for "African Americans". Africa is a pretty big place. By the same token saying that one is African American is pretty general and says little about what ones ancestral history might consist of.

Italian & english - one of my ancestors signed the Mayflower Compact and was the first Mayor of plymouth mass

1/4 Irish/1/2 Native American Indian/1/8 Swedish/ 1/8English is my best estimate. I am a bit of a mongrel. Mongrel American. My mom's mom was full indian, as was my dad's father, and mom's father was full Irish, while Dad's mom was English and Swedish. Figure the stats, I tried, but I am tired.

[EDIT]I think I got the fractions right

While my family tree was lost in a flood, I am pretty sure I am 1/2 Irish, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Liliputian, judging by the sad size of certain appendages.

Irish (name derived from there), French, likely English, but not 100% certain, and Native American (I forget what tribe). The Native American is very much confirmed, but given records of the time and how taboo such mixed relationships were, it is impossible to tell how much.

As far as we can look back, our family has no white genes. There has got to be some though, considering my skin is white, my hair is dirty blonde & I can grow a full redman's beard. 😱

1/2 German, 1/4 Swiss, and 1/4 Welsh. I think my Dad's side is 1/2 German and 1/2 Welsh, I don't know anything more than that. My mom's grandparents immigrated from the Russian steppes to America right around the time of the Bolshevik revolution; my great-grandfather (I think) was actually killed by the Bolsheviks for refusing to give up his land.
