My paternal grandfather five times removed was kidnapped and sold as a bond-servant to a farmer in Kentucky.
Also in my paternal line I have a "Daughter of the Amercian Revolution" If that means anything to you.

On the maternal side the line is only traceable 4 generations preceding my grandmother, we've not been able to find further records. They're Appalachian Whites with red hair and blue eyes, so it's fair to assume there's some Scotch\Irish blood in there.

I just tell people my family has been in the country to long and we've lost track of our heritage..

Kidding aside, I'm a mix of mostly Scottish and Dutch, but then there are little bits of everything else in Europe if you go back more generations.
