Trump : Women are being kidnapped in Mexico and being brought to the US.

Um What?

He is obsessed with this very specific imagery about women in back seats with tape over their mouths. Nobody seems to know where it came from.

A real super billionaire would have already built and monetized the wall if it was so valuable.

Lol...Trump calls it a wall and Kellyanne keeps telling people to stop calling it a wall

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/01/23/kellyanne-conway-wall-name-ridiculist-ac360-vpx.cnn

I've said this before, it's Schrodinger's Wall, where observing it causes its nature to change. It's Wall except for when it's a Steel Slat Barrier, and it needs to be built, but it's also already mostly built, and we need it because there are Caravans coming except for when they aren't because Wall is already there.

The Wall is whatever Wall needs to be at the given moment. Do not question Wall. Do not question Happy Fun Wall. Trust the Wall; the Wall is your friend.

There actually is a bit of truth to this in the form of sex trafficking of young girls but it's much less tying people up and more threats and drugs forcing people to do stuff against their will.

I don't think anybody is arguing that trafficking doesn't occur or that it isn't a problem but he seems to relish a particular set of vivid imagery that has, apparently, no basis in reality. Much less that a bullshit wall would actually do anything to stop this.

It is a national emergency because the government is shutdown.

There are many ways to solve the immigration issue other than a wall but liberals want nothing to do with it. So you get the inferior solution i.e. the wall. We have to end sanctuary cities and prevent illegals access to housing, education, drivers licenses etc.... Enough deterrents and people will lose the will to come to the US illegally.

Imagine if we have a very open legal immigration policy and those that follow it have a good chance to become Americans. There are other ways but the fact is we have gone decades without our leaders doing anything about it. It seems like a topic that both democrats and republicans could align on but literally they take opposite sides. Democrats = pro illegal immigrations, Repubs = enforce immigration laws.

Yup because it's not like Republicans didn't have total control of the government these past two years and could have had this taken care of yet NOW it's all of a sudden a national emergency.

Why don't you try going after the farmers that hire the illegals? Oh that's right they are Republican voters and benefit from the cheap labor. Can't have that now can we?

Careful you'll puncture the myth of conservative rural self sufficiency if was made clear that large portions of it only function on the back of illegal labor and government handouts/programs.

In Trump's concession speech he said that we need legal immigrants- for farms.

You must not be from rural areas. Its not only that they're self sufficient, they're the ones actually supporting everyone else! Not even joking, that's the sentiment that rural areas are trying to push now. Those people are fucked once large scale factory farming takes off and cities aren't reliant on them for food any longer.

One good thing about Trump doing a national emergency, Trump will own it lock stock and barrel. 100%. ALL TRUMP!
SO when it fails, Donald can claim GREAT SUCCESS.
Donald can pretend how terrific his wall is, how wonderful it is doing to stop drugs and illegals coming into America, and how the illegal immigration problem has finally been totally solved.
Just like he does all the other failed crap Donald tried to push on people i.e. hats, ties, vodka, his airline, his casino, his board game, his magazine, his steaks, his university, and his first marriage.
Add to that, a wall.
So yes, if a wall is built it must be Donald Trump's wall. Fully owned and operated by.
Maybe Trump can claim that failure as a tax write off too?

If he pulls a national emergency stunt I think many on the right will be against it. When a Dem president returns to office will they call a national emergency and confiscate guns? Guarantee that’s going to be the big topic. Not a line that should be crossed and a very dictatorial thing to do. We have three branches for a reason, I hope the other two grow a set and stop this.

I'm all for this fucker getting hung for treason, but the military needs to stay out of it. The damage done to the country by a military coup would be far worse in the long run than two more years of Trump.
Your kidding right?? A military coup might be what it takes! Especially if as Commander in Chief he severely compromises our national security!!

So they will oppose it.....because democrats will do so much worse? Just call it what it is. Authoritarian. You don’t have to both sides everything.

I did call it what it is. You seem to only focus on the parts of my post you can post some sort of exaggerated reaction to.

Maybe he was watching the Punisher first season? He wouldn't like the second with his main backers being the source of evil.

He was watching the new Ted Bundy doc on Netflix and was feeling very jealous about all of Ted Bundy's successes.

It has nothing to do with the money.

lol. Acting as if $7b is a large sum of money is fucking hilarious. It's honestly the equivalent of a rounding error at this point.

For the wall or against the wall - I'm not even stating my opinion - but at minimal I can at least have the decency to admit that $5b (or $7b whatever it is) is a drop in the bucket as far as budget is concerned.

Conservatives are the ones that keep standing in the way of fixing immigration, not liberals.

And anyone who is against sanctuary cities is also against the 10th amendment. I thought conservatives liked that one?

Ummmm, that's called a military coup and is generally frowned upon. We have this thing called a constitution that lays out the process from removing the president from office. Even if your deranged little fantasy came true, who do you think the military will hand the government over to? Pence? Pelosi? Hillary? Who's to say that they won't decide to go full junta on us?

The military should refuse to follow an illegal order and remove the commander in chief from office for issuing one.
