White Hot: APC BX1500 UPS $99.99 - 50 MIR = $49.99

This is the same UPS that was $99.99 @ Office Depot with no rebates just a little bit ago. No rebates required.

I wonder if we can pickup a MIR coupon for them or maybe price match?

May be locale dependent (it's true in S FLA, at least). Go to the OD home page, select the "weekly specials" (on the right hand menu) and pick the circular rather than the weekly ad.

For me in Dallas, it shows as 170.00 minus 70 instant savings, minus the 50.00 rebate, gives you 50.00

I don't see a rebate link, and it says in store only. Probably have to get the rebate in the store. Most of my OD rebates take 16 weeks. With all of my 100.00 OD rebates I have to call and bug them. I still get the rebates though. A green light for a YMMV deal

same in central fl...

even hotter with $10 off $50 grand opening store coupon...
od go's

Thanks OP! It works in Houston TX. I got to use my CC's $20 off $100 coupon (with $1 filler) so with the rebate it works out to $30+tax.

Sweet deal!

I picked up one today. Am I reading the rebate form corretly? It says nothing about including the UPC at all. That's unusual for a OD rebate.

Just picked up one while out for lunch. $99 - $50MIR = 49.99 AR

Was reading the rebate form too, it mentions nothing about a UPC code. Rebate only calls for the rebate form and receipt.

For those that have gotten the rebate form - is it (as usual) limited to one rebate per household/address/etc.?

yup...

and i just got an extra score...

went in with the 'grand opening coupon i mentioned above and got one ups... the gal at the counter had to force the coupon through since it's really not good on technology prods...

then the regioster printed out a "get $20 off your next $50 purchase coupon"... so i grabbed another ups... same thing with the forcing the coupon...

i was going to go for 3, but two is really all i need...

these things are monsters!

same here when i went in to pick two up this evening. Scored one and was going to get a 2nd one and I asked about the coupon BEFORE i went back for another and was told no. I decided I didn't need a 2nd one that bad anyway, have to mail the rebate to another address, etc.

Thanks for the excellent deal post.

I was bummed I couldn't get these at the $99 deal before since I have been wanting to get some high-capacity ones, but this $50 deal was much sweeter as I don't mind rebates.

We do not have a local OD. I called one that is about 80 miles away and they had the units in-stock. I took a much needed afternoon off and made a day of it. Ended up getting 3 of them. They had a total of 4 in-stock and tried to get me to take the last one also.

I opened them all in the back of my SUV to make sure they were not physically damaged before I drove back home. Looks like these will be high-quality units, very heavy too.

These will be replacing various 500-1000VA units I have now. Interesting how one manufacturers 1000VA may weigh a quarter of anothers. These are *heavy*. APC is a good brand I think.

Fired one up a minute ago and so far all is good. Looking forward to getting them all installed.

You drove 80 miles with a SUV? Tack on another $50 in gas... 😉
You should check them all, most of these have been sitting in a warehouse for a very long time.
The only thing heavy in these units are the batteries. I find they pretty much all weigh the same if they have the same kind of batteries.

Actually I drove 160 miles, so about 6 gallons or $12 around here. 🙂
And yes it *sucks* to only have a Staples (and that?s it) locally

So my cost should be: $324OTD ($108 each) less $150 in rebates = $174 / 3 = $58 each.
I should get $15 back from my Worklife Rewards card too making them $53 each. Considering they are $190 each here at our Staples, it was worth the trip for me.

The ones I got are actually pretty new, here are the test dates (Each unit has a printed test sheet). They were all made in India and I don't know how long that boat ride is.

I've found huge weight differences in the various units. The stated VA has little to do with the actual weight or runtimes.

Just for grins here are the (approx. bathroom scale) weights of the ones I use:

APC BX1500 (Rated 1500VA) - 29 lbs
Cyberpower 900AVR (Rated 900VA) - 24lbs
Conext 900AVR (Rated 900VA) - 25lbs
APC Backup650 (Rated 650VA) - 25lbs
Tripplite BC450Internet (Rated 450VA) - 15lbs
Cyberpower 485 (Rated 485VA) - 10lbs

and my big mama, not the largest VA (Rated at 700VA) but the largest physical case and batteries

APC Smart-UPS 700XL - 55lbs !!

I recently re-batteried the 700XL. Cost about $125 off ebay for the identical batteries APC wanted a fortune for.

In the meantime I got all the BX1500's unpacked and fired up. No smoke yet so that's good, only the faint pleasant odor of an assembly solvent (Carcinogen for sure)

Was wondering how the rebate and Worklife will work together for multiple units, since the WL number prints on the receipt?

The rebate form does say "limit 1 rebate per household or business."

I thought about getting two, but decided one would be enough for now. It's replacing a APC Smart-UPS 700, which is monstrously heavy.
